Role Purpose

· The Asset Management Group (AMG) Management Information (MI) team is responsible for reporting and analysis of AMG performance on a global, regional and business line basis. Scope of coverage includes global revenues, costs, AUM/AUD, Flows, RWAs and Headcount covering the areas of Management Information, Planning and Analysis, as well as adhoc projects and requests.
· The team works closely with business and senior finance management in providing them with the detailed management information as required.
· The primary responsibilities of the role is to ensure the production of timely and accurate management information for the end users and develop a close understanding of the business to provide high quality analysis on the key drivers of the business' performance. The scope of the role and its responsibilities will include
· Review and development of the MI produced by the offshore team in the Global Service Centre (based in India)
· Supports the AMG Global MI Manager in reporting of global results
· Involvement in all aspects of analysis of the business performance including revenues, cost, headcount and planning.
· Provides support and direction to AMG Regions on production MI
· Review and analysis of Global AUM, including ownership of AMG Global AUM webpage
· Adhoc projects and analysis.
· The role includes interaction with local finance regions (Europe, Asia, LATAM, North America & Saudi) and other MI functions within the bank.

Key Accountabilities

Impact on Business

· The objective of the role holder is to provide value–added analysis to the business, be involved in adhoc projects and improve the underlying processes and MI generated.
· Oversee the production and distribution of regular and adhoc reporting for AMG, ensuring reports are adequately reviewed and delivered on a timely basis.
· Analysis of monthly review files and forecasts, challenging regional submission

Customers / Stakeholders

· Senior management (both finance and non-finance) within AMG.

Leadership & Teamwork

· Work effectively with business partners to deliver the MI to manage, monitor and measure the performance of the business.
· Work with support areas (e.g. Regional Finance Teams, GSC and other infrastructure, etc).

Operational Effectiveness & Control

· Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
· Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
· Understand the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, HSBC Investments' TCF philosophy and how this affects your role. Act in a manner that takes account of these principles to ensure fair outcomes for customers.

· Continuous review of management information presentations to ensure all information is reliable and meets the needs of the end users
· Time management - ensure that all deadlines are met on time without sacrificing quality of information
· Ability to manage a number of task simultaneously
· Interaction with senior management on MI related topics
· Interaction with the GSC team and other key related areas.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  ACA/CIMA qualified
·  University degree (Class 2.1 idea) or equivalent
·  Good market knowledge (knowledge of asset management would be an advantage)
·  Strong analytical skills
·  Proactive, with intellectual curisotiy
·  Excellent communication skills
·  Strong IT skills, specifically advanced excel and MI reporting systems (e.g. TM1, essbas)
