We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Financial Control - Governance and Control - ESG REPORTING.

Principal responsibilities

The Manager, ESG and Climate reporting role sits in the Group Financial and Regulatory Reporting function, itself part of Core Finance, a global team responsible for leading internal and external financial reporting, controls oversight, forecasting, stress testing and other key finance functions.  

Group-wide focussed role responsible for:

·  coordinating the production of Group ESG and Climate disclosure via the Annual Report & Accounts, website, and other materials;
·  ensuring disclosure requirements are being met through local, regional and Group-wide disclosures;
·  ensuring there is a robust verification/assurance process maintained for external ESG and Climate disclosures.    

Requirements

Experience

·  Highly-motivated, diligent, collaborative, personable and capable of working independently and exercising judgment.
·  Project management skills, including creating lean processes and governance structures
·  experience within control or assurance design or execution.
·  Extensive years of experience within banking at a major institution, ideally with experience of managing business performance and new reporting requirements.
·  Knowledge of HSBC’s business strategy, operations and structure .
·  Strong people and communication skills – able to develop and articulate a viewpoint when working with a broad range of stakeholders.
·  Able to prioritise tasks, resolve problems and respond effectively to emerging issues.
·  Able effectively to work effectively within a complex, global organization.

Qualifications

·  University degree, preferably with major in Finance, Environmental Management, Finance, Sustainability, or related disciplines.

Skills

·  Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
·  Fluent English (written and spoken) and fluent Chinese (spoken, reading and written). 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
