Job description

The Business Review Communications Manager role is based within the Business Review Centre in Business Performance.
 
The role of the Business Review Communications Manager is to influence, provide direction and in most instances compose and own all external and internal communications for the Business Review team in line with Senior Business Management and Regulatory guidance.
 
The key thing is the variety of the work and not only of the tasks and the people you are dealing with, so for example speaking with groups of people in the branches and then going straight  to a meeting working on something else. The level of detail is varied. This role will also bring a lot of exposure to different departments and levels of audiences in terms of stakeholders. You can also be very creative in this type of role and put your mark on things and take ownership and get recognition which is motivational.
 
This is very much a stand alone role where you have ownership for documents being created and it's your work as there is no set team around communications in the business review centre department. It gives the successful individual a great opportunity to shine and raise one's profile!
 
The fact that you are exposed to so many different people and areas you get a really good opportunity to understand different areas and teams and you could move into other lines of work with HSBC and within the communications areas as you will get to appreciate and understand what they do. You have great visibility and so can move on longer-term therefore definite prospects in the long run!
 
Your responsibilities will include:

Overseeing and having ownership of all internal and external communications for the business review centre
Developing and maintaining a strong communications plan
Having a strong knowledge of the company brand and tone guidelines

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. involved in the senior level key customer documentation and key steering and board committees or equivalent
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Experience working in relevant area, i.e. Communications is desirable but not essential
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same 
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have a high standard of communications skills, particularly written and verbal articulation.  Alongside this, they must have strong stakeholder management, influence and planning skills, and be able to have a flexible and adaptable approach to change and will also support others to respond in a similar way.
 
The base location for this role is 120 Redcliffe Street, Bristol.
