Job description

Role Purpose
As an inward relationship manager, your role is to support and manage HSBC`s corporate clients to ensure global service level and overview of the relationship. The inward relationship manager is the dedicated contact to international clients (clients and prospects). Role is support the global relationship support team for these clients to help develop grow global revenue including revenue in Switzerland. 
Principal Accountabilities:
Key activities and decision making areas
Impact on the Business
Support the on-boarding of new clients based on the norms of the Group.
Manage, develop and grow the local relationships to ensure that we obtain the ancillary wallet and grow income.
Pro-actively search for prospects and opportunities with GRMs.
Look for solutions led strategies for our clients and involve all product partners as and when appropriate.
Manage credit and other risks (compliance, watch list, fraud, etc.)
Ensure that all internal controls for HSBC are respected, particularly around KYC, (internal and external verifications) and that we work within all regulations.
Manage operational risk
Co-ordinate with the GRM to ensure that all client needs are satisfied at a local level and to deliver excellent service to build on the global relationship.
Potentially support some Swiss corporate GRMed names

Customers: Swiss subsidiaries of foreign international
HSBC Group customers
Stakeholders: CMB CH Branch management, European ISB Team, GRMs, product partners, customers (local and parent level), etc.

Role Context
Perform periodic “ad hoc” reviews/Request for proposal within a short timeframe
Provide support for the development of new business initiatives and product enhancement
Identify/communicate issues or limitations related to product, platform, operations, systems or pricing
Ensure integrity of sales process and compliance with all HSBC and regulatory policies
 
To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Any failures to comply with the above should be reflected in year end performance assessments
Management of Risk
The jobholder is required to adhere with the Group Policy and Compliance guidance.
He/she should work closely with Compliance and take pre-emptive measures to reduce/mitigate potential operational risk.
He/she should pay attention to marketing activities encompassing local and cross border selling restrictions.
Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

Desired profile

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Experience as a relationship manager in a corporate environment, dynamic, resourceful, and focused on developing a strong client base (within HSBC standards).
Organised, independent and a team player, you are able to build and develop strong relationships with both your clients (internal and external) and your team.
You can hold good strategic dialogues with local management, well versed in macro/micro economics, sectors, financial solutions and alternative.
You can build strong (internal and external) relationships and influence main contacts.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to see the big picture. Rigorous and good background in risk and compliance. Ability to manage the risks which are particular to an international client
Strong understanding of how to successfully manage and grow a corporate portfolio and are well versed in HSBC products and services like PCM, credit, FX, trade, etc.
Fluency in English is required for the role. Preference for also fluency in German.
