We are looking for a Technical Architect to lead and drive the development of the future NAS based storage solutions. Architects play key hands-on roles in multi-discipline teams working on new and next generation products and solutions. This includes owning product architecture, product feature definition, software design, SW development and test, customer interaction. Projects typically involve coordination with internal and external development partners.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Senior level network and Software architect to define and lead NAS based storage product development efforts.

·         Involves designing, specifying and leading the implementation of the storage features.

·         Includes working with product marketing, tracking industry trends, and gathering customer feedback with the intent of driving those results into a superior comprehensive network architecture/product.

·         Work often involves cross organizational interactions: Hardware, Software, Storage R&D teams, Sales teams, Architects, other organizations, etc. to arrive at best solutions.

·         Demonstrates strong domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of senior management, development partners and the eco system

·         Develops architectures and methodologies for software systems design and development across multiple platforms

·         Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.

·         Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects/product roadmap and activities in the software systems design organization.

·         Strong ability to negotiate and build consensus in engineering community on technical decisions

·         Must excel at communication at multiple organization levels: customer, executives and engineering teams

 

Education and Experience

·  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
·  15+ years of experience

Knowledge and Skills

·  Experience designing and developing software for Storage domain.
·  Strong Operating System experience – Linux, VxWorks etc
·  Expert knowledge in Java, REST, Python programming
·  Excellent knowledge of File based protocols like NFS, SMB , CIFS
·  Deep understanding of architectural aspects of scalability, performance, availability etc. with respect to designing and developing enterprise Storage products
·  Extensive experience in overall architecture of Software and interaction with hardware designs for products and solutions.
·  Designing and integrating storage solutions into overall architecture and hardware design across multiple platforms
·  Ability to participate in customer issue resolutions, critical defect triage and strategize overall improvement of product quality
·  Ability to drive product roadmaps in discussions with customer, product management and architects
·  Ability to conduct technology deep-dives on newer storage technologies like NVMe, Storage Analytics and Intelligent Storage platforms
·  History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software, Software, or network design
·  Experience using version control system – ex. GIT/Clearcase
·  Familiarity with Agile development methodologies like Scrum , SAFE etc.
·  Ability to create white papers and advanced training material for solutions.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and work with Management to drive product release execution. The candidate should collaborate well with internal and partner development & test teams, and with other architects in same product and ecosystem.

·         Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and solutions for alignment with technology roadmap and business value. Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
