Roles & Responsibilities:

This innovation starts with the embedded software and firmware that provides the environmental control and differentiation that is at the heart of all  HPE storage products.

Working in the firmware team, you will contribute to the continued evolution and innovation that all our solutions build upon, integrating and embracing the very latest leading edge technology

·  Solution architecture and design for the various modules of the firmware modules owned
·  Root causing firmware issues
·  Providing firmware bug-fixes for root caused issues.
·  Working within a team and independently.
·  Becoming a confident subject matter expert in the Firmware.
·  Interact with the Storage product teams and other eco-system provider products/teams to understand the business priorities and guide the engineering teams on the roadmaps or feature sets that would provide high value add to the Customers
·  Build prototypes/POCs for the proposed solutions and provide technical leadership to the teams in designing and implementing the solutions
·  Assist management with estimations and dependency/risk analysis
·  Be an expert facing the partners in the knowledge of the products, solutions or service offerings of the Organization with an insight into the competitor's offerings as well

Skill Requirement:

·  Must – 10+ years of IT industry experience, with a BE/ME in Computer Science/Electronics or equivalent
·  Good understanding of Storage, RAID & Virtualization layer
·  Expertise in  C and RTOS
·  Very good understanding of Linux, system programming, including multi-threading and inter-process communications.
·  Scripting skills, including one or more of bash, Python
·  Source control tools (e.g. Git, SVN, Jira, Crucible, Clearcase, Clearquest).
·  Storage domain (SAS/NVMe/SATA) background preferable
·  Experience in development of well layered software including OS and hardware abstraction to enable code portability across platforms.
·  Knowledge or experience of Storage and/or Server products.
·  Experience of working with agile teams / processes. Knowledge of Eclipse or equivalent IDE.
·  GDB Debugger.
·  Protocols: SCSI, FC, NVMe, SMP,TCP/IP, I², PCIe.
