In the Aruba – a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company – Network Test Lab (NTL) team, our goal is no customer-reported defects. As a system stress test engineer in NTL you will be a key contributor to verifying the quality of Aruba’s networking products.  In this position, you will be directly responsible for the design, development, and execution of testing for switching and routing products. You will need to conduct early research, to develop test plans, to perform test execution, and to perform debug analysis. You will need to document defects and enhancement recommendations. You will need to develop and execute test scripts and automation.  You may need to write white papers and other forms of technical content for internal teams and customers.  You will be part of an HPE global community of networking experts.

This position will be located at Aruba’s Roseville, CA engineering facility. Travel, if required, will be infrequent.

Responsibilities:

·  Writes and executes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
·  Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
·  Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
·  Assists in rapid resolution of customer issues and escalations.
·  Assists in designing and testing customer topologies to assist in proof of concepts and new feature introductions.
·  Assists in the development and maintenance of a complex lab of networking test infrastructure.

Education and Experience Required:

What you will need…

·  Education - Must have graduated within the last year with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or Electrical Engineering (G.P.A. 3.5+)
·  Typically 2 to 4  years of applicable networking or software development experience (internships, experience between BS and MS, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
·  Solid understanding of the OSI model
·  Experience with networking protocols, switches and routers
·  Knowledge & understanding of networking - VLAN's, IP addressing, DHCP, BGP
·  Experience with Wired network protocol analyzers (e.g. WireShark)
·  Experience with Server configuration (Linux an Windows)
·  Test Automation (Python, Tcl, Expect, PHP, PowerShell)
·  Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language
·  Excellent reporting skills.  Ability to generate written reports about test procedures, setups, results, that communicate what work was done and what results were achieved
