The Build and Release Engineer will be part of a small team responsible for building and delivering tools that enable timely and accurate delivery of HPE Storage Software Products.
In this position you will help design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software build and continuous integration tools. Engineering tasks consist of all aspects of the development lifecycle including research, requirements, design, technical planning, and system test of assigned areas.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have a hybrid set of interests that combine those of a SW Engineer, Release Engineer, Automation Engineer and Systems Engineer. Candidates will possess a combination of analytical skills, debugging skills and demonstrate effective teamwork and communication
Automate the flow of source code modifications from development to production, i.e. Continuous Integration (CI).
Work with the QA team to automate and test the deployment pipeline, i.e. Continuous Delivery (CD).
Write, test and debug numerous build and deployment scripts using a variety of languages and build tools.
Troubleshoot issues along the CI/CD pipeline.
Develop policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CI/CD operations and developer work.
Closely collaborate with development as well as quality assurance teams.
Participate in driving project plans including schedules, costs, task prioritization and issue resolution.
Execute and regularly report development and testing status, issues, and programs risk to management and technical forums.
Work with the technical leads and project managers from dependent programs to plan and execute tasks related to areas of responsibility.
Coordinate and pursue opportunities for innovation leverage and compatibility across the broader storage divisions within HPE.
