This Software/Firmware Engineering Intern position is in HP's LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions Product Delivery Lab. This lab is responsible for building and delivering the world's leading Enterprise and SMB LaserJet single and multi-function printers, and digital senders. As a Firmware/Software Development Engineer Intern you will be a strong contributor on a development team. You will lead, contribute, and collaborate across a variety of assets in the discovery, definition, design, development and delivery of key features and solutions. You will be working in a fun, fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment where innovation and industry leading quality are job #1.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with multiple project teams, other software/firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development of the product, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
· Collaborate and assist with activities to establish, enhance, and extend development platforms, tools, processes, features and solutions.
· Plan and schedule software development tasks and provide status updates as necessary.
· Document and present designs to reviewers to validate quality, security, customer usability, and completeness of design.
· Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the HP LaserJet R&D organization.

Desired profile

Education and Experience Required:

High School Degree
2nd Year of University completed- Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems major.

Required Knowledge:
· Practical experience in Python, Java, C#, C++, Visual Studio, Windows CE/XP and Linux
· Software/Firmware development, test & release experience
· Experience in overall architecture of HW/FW/SW systems, products, or solutions
· Embedded debugging / troubleshooting with target HW
· Automated unit, subsystem, and system test experience
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Understanding of Software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, triage, and testing scripts and tools
