Job Family Definition:
Promotes and champions Agile methodologies within the organization. Orchestrates and influences internal and external stakeholders and HPE's functional areas to identify and remove impediments for successful sprint completion. Seeks and promotes continuous improvement at all levels of the organization. Helps to achieve productivity and quality goals with efficiency and effectiveness, by facilitating and coaching scrum teams´ efforts and activities. Scrum Masters have a strong vision and bias for action that helps create a workplace where employees are excited and eager do their best every day. Scrum Masters are passionate about getting the best out of individuals and teams through the power of self-organization. Supports Agile teams in documenting end user stories as well as helping to manage the product backlog accordingly. Facilitates scrum team meetings, including but not limited to, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, and sprint reviews. Coaches others on delivering functional software iteratively, and scrum teams on becoming and operating autonomously, agile in reacting and proactive to make changes quickly when needed. Management Level Definition:
Focuses on HPE’s subscription-based offers and business models to drive enhanced, mature commercial capabilities such as pricing, quoting, ordering, and invoicing. Applies subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance HPE’s commercial IT stack including SAP S4 Hana and SAP BRIM. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.
What you’ll do:
Responsibilities
· Applies advanced subject matter knowledge on software development methods and processes to support a unified subscription capability roadmap and backlog.
· Organizes and facilitates backlog management, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, demos and other scrum-related rituals including Concept and Execution Commit facilitation across 15-20+ other teams of key stakeholders (e.g. Ops, Finance).
· Promotes Agile knowledge and best practices across the organization to maximize the scrum team´s performance and effectiveness.
· Coaches individuals and teams across the organization in iteration methods, to be collaborative and customer focused, and to create a transparent environment that facilitates an Agile response to challenges.
· Builds consensus through collaboration and has the ability to influence organizations on the implementation of the Agile methodology.
What you need to bring:
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
· Typically 6+ years of work experience in related field.
· 2+ years experience as an Agile Scrum Master is preferred.
· Experience as an Agile Coach is a plus.
· Experience in leading the transition of an organization from Waterfall to Agile is desired.
Knowledge and Skills
· Demonstrable proficiency in Agile methods, including Scrum and Kanban
· Experience working in an environment where Agile was applied at scale.
· Experience operating in a variety of Software Development Life Cycles (Waterfall, Iterative and Agile).
· Experienced facilitator able to apply various techniques to ensure effective meetings both co-located and distributed.
· Strong leadership skills and a history of leading through influence.
Impact/Scope
· Typically works with 2 to 3 scrum teams at any given time.
· Ability to help people leaders within their teams, to understand their changing role in an Agile environment.
· Comfortable with the implementation and execution of Scrum in an environment where individuals are unfamiliar with the methodology.
Complexity
· Ability to work with individuals of their organization at all levels; from the individual contributor level up to leadership level.
High degree of autonomy in determining the best course of action.
