Provide onsite resident resource at HPE site located in San Jose, CA. to support the building network infrastructure and the Intelligent Work Space (IWS) solution. The IWS solution consists of Aruba Meridian location based services and other applications to provide Conference room scheduling (with automated AV equipment), Visitor sign in and visitor badge printing, and HPE My Workspace mobile phone application that can provide directions to conference rooms, rest rooms, etc.
The HPE AMS group will be providing remote monitoring and management of the network infrastructure and IWS solution.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
• Support customers and End-users on issues encountered for the use of the IWS capabilities, such as:
o scheduling conference rooms (via Microsoft Outlook or Conference room IPads)
o visitor registration (via Visitor registration IPads)
o My Workspace mobile application (HPE developed)
o conference room AV equipment
o Wireless connectivity issues
• Support Hewlett Packard Enterprise Executives, considered VIP as needed for IWS solution issues
• Provide routine network connectivity testing, operational testing and failed equipment replacement, including setting device configuration as required on all Intelligent Workspace Space (IWS) hardware, to include:
o Aruba Beacons
o Conference Room IPads (conference room door)
o Conference room Flight boards (by elevators on each floor)
o Visitor Sign in IPads
o Visitor Badge printer
o Conference room AV equipment
• Incident management & resolution
• Participate in operational meetings as required
• Maintain HPE provided inventory of spare equipment and cables. This will include creating and/or maintaining spreadsheets and/or other documentation regarding inventory levels for spare equipment. Manage OEM warranty requests for failed Access Points.
• Provide Onsite hands and eyes support to HP Enterprise Remote AMS support teams as requested.
• Troubleshoot and repair network equipment including setting limited device configuration parameters under remote direction as required during normal business hours for the following, but not limited to:
o Aruba Access Points
o Aruba modular Switches
o Palo Alto Firewalls
Education and Experience Required:
· First Level University degree: a) technical, b) non-technical (i.e., Bachelor of Arts/ Science).
· 1 - 5 years experience in relevant technologies and customer environments.
· Relevant industry qualification where applicable.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Articulate customer facing individual capable of providing end user assistance in the use of new technology applications and equipment. Training during building network installation and application commissioning.
• A+ certified, capable of following guidance from a remote network engineering desk
• Experienced in performing wired and wireless network equipment troubleshooting and replacement (modular switches, access points)
• General knowledge in Audio Visual (wireless) equipment use and troubleshooting
• Physically capable of ladder work for the replacement of Access Points (maximum of ten (10) feet above floor.
