Global Shared Delivery Supply Chain (GSD SC) organization is in charge of delivering spare parts for support and direct business world-wide. HPE Global Shared Delivery is relying on those to support our customers and our channel partners.

Making sure that we deliver the right part at the right place, at the right time, at the right cost, and with the right quality is our mission. Meeting HPE contractual commitments (warranty or service contract) or direct customer expectations is our day to day business

The role of the Material Buyer Intern is to support the Global Procurement team in their daily operations. This involves enacting the order plan provided by the Global Planning Team to source the needed spare parts and coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure that the ordered parts arrive on time. In order to do this, the Buyer constantly monitors all open orders and quickly resolves any issues that might cause a delay. The Buyer also regularly co-operates with the other teams to assist with accurate data maintenance and process optimizations.

Job specifics/responsibilities:

·  Creates Purchase Orders according to requirements provided by the Global Planning Team via new buy purchases, repair and broker market orders 
·  Monitors and updates the status of each open order in the system and escalates accordingly if any delays are expected
·  Communicates regularly with the material vendors to co-ordinate shipments and resolve issues
·  Coordinates with other supply chain teams (Planning, Logistics, Engineering) to make sure the parts needed are sourced on time and any complications are addressed and resolved
·  Assists the Accounts Payable Team with resolving vendor-invoice discrepancies
·  Assists the Strategic Procurement Team by providing feedback on vendors and highlighting any issues or improvement opportunities

Requirements:

·  University student, preferably in Economics or related field
·  Supply Chain knowledge would be considered an advantage
·  Fluent in written and verbal English
·  Analytical & conceptual skills
·  Strong execution skills
·  Team player
·  MS office
