Job Description:
HPE Storage GBU Lab Operations Team is looking for an Intermediate Lab Operations/Support Engineer to grow and strengthen our offering to our internal customers and partners. The candidate will have good interpersonal communication skills, good problem solving skills, be eager to learn and share knowledge with others.
Qualified candidates must be comfortable in a rapid pace and ever evolving dynamic environment as well as possess the ability to work in a proactive and self-guided manner to achieve team/department goals.
The Storage GBU Lab Operations team works to provide physical and virtual equipment and support to Storage development teams; maintain existing equipment, and provide break-fix solutions. We provide end-to-end support for equipment locally and globally distributed.
The ideal candidates will be eager to provide a robust, reliable, highly functional and dynamic environment to service development and test requirements.
This position is tasked to work closely with team resources to provide the most stable work environment for development and test teams. This includes the support and maintenance of solutions in a manner consistent with program deliverables as defined by the development teams.
This position will also collaborate with System Administrators, Software Development and Test Engineers, Hardware, Network and Site Engineers to maintain a healthy infrastructure environment and assist on systems-related projects that potentially span all global locations.
Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible to provide all system administration tasks within the Lab Operations scope. Including, but not limited to:
· Virtualized Environment administration (VMware)
· Monitoring servers, network, and storage equipment
· Verifying, troubleshooting, correcting problems detected
· Engaging the proper teams to address issues in a timely manner.
· Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding systems status, project progress, and issue resolution.
· Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
· Typically 2-4 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
This position will be responsible to provide support to all system administration tasks within the Lab Operations scope. Including, but not limited to:
· Basic functional VMware knowledge and skill set
· Basic functional UNIX System Administration
· Intermediate Windows System administration
· Experience in system installation and configuration, storage systems, basic fundamentals of security, installation/configuration of third-party software.
· Proficiency with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS, LDAP, Bind/DNS, mail, FTP, and other basic services.
· Understand IP/ VLAN addressing allocation, management, and routing concepts.
· Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis and repair.
· Network Infrastructure including routers, switches, NIC configuration and troubleshooting
· Basic understanding of WAN/LAN distributed environments (i.e. Fort Collins, Andover, India)
· Proficient with SAN/NAS Technology
· Troubleshooting of software/hardware to root cause; repair, documentation and communication of issue to submitting end user(s)
· Demonstrated ability to participate collaboratively in work teams to complete complex projects
· Engaging the proper teams to address issues in a timely manner.
· Operational knowledge of multiple software systems management tools and utilities.
· Analytical and problem solving skills; verifying, troubleshooting, correcting problems detected
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
· Ability to effectively communicate complex procedures, issue solution and reporting at all management levels.
