Data Scientist

We are looking for an outstanding data scientist to join Supply Chain Analytics & Digital Innovation team at EG's Global Supply Chain Organization. You will have the opportunity to dive all the ‘big data' you can get your hands on and make a difference for customers, shareholders, and employees. You will develop innovative solutions/ models to drive and build cutting edge technologies in big data, machine learning, real time data analytics, and predictive analytics to enable best business decisions by providing tools and actionable insights to business partners.

The Data Scientist is responsible for:

· Build complex data sets from multiple data sources, both internally and externally.
· Build learning systems to analyze and filter continuous data flows and offline data analysis.
· Collaborate with cross-functional partners across the business.
· Collaborate with project teams to implement data modeling solutions.
· Combine data features to determine search models.
· Conduct advanced statistical analysis to determine trends and significant data relationships.
· Develop models of current state in order to determine improvements needed.
· Develop multiple custom data models to drive innovative business solutions.
· Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects.
· Ensures business needs are being met.
· Interpret data to identify trends to go across future data sets.
· Research new techniques and best practices within the industry.
· Scale new algorithms to large data sets.
· Train algorithms to apply models to new data sets.
· Translate business needs into data requirements.
· Validate models and algorithmic techniques.

Responsibilities:

· Develop models and algorithms and implement appropriate modeling techniques to drive innovation in supply chain analytics that enables business partners to answer complex business questions at ease.
· Conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance.
· Partnering closely with cross-functional groups such as supply chain/operations, merchandising, site analytics, @labs technology teams to define and develop data modeling initiatives.
· Collaborate with engineers to implement and deploy scalable solutions.
· Build learning systems that monitor performance trend and build solutions to alert business partners for proactive actions.
· Provide thought leadership by researching best practices, conducting experiments, and collaborating with industry leaders.
· Provide guidance to cross-functional leadership regarding data modeling possibilities.

Desired profile

Education and experience:
·  MS or PhD in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent scientific degree.
·  Minimum 2-5 years of experience.
Knowledge and skills:
·  Experience working with large data sets.
·  Deep knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and optimization.
·  Experience with R, Matlab, SQL and Python is required.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
