About the Field Data Center Technical Support Technician

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Services is seeking to identify a highly motivated and qualified individual for an opportunity as a Field Data Center Technical Support Technician for HPE's clients in the Boston and Northern Massachusetts area.

In this role, you'll primarily provide onsite support to our corporate clients in Northern Massachusetts. Based on the client's needs, the support services you provide will include reactive break/fix and server, networking, and storage support.

You'll have opportunity to work on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as a Field Data Center Technical Support Technician which can lead to future careers within HPE.

This position will:
· be based in the Northern Massachusetts area. No relocation assistance available.
· likely have a company car
· include afternoon/evening shift work or an Alternate Work Schedule (four 10-hour days), and will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call coverage
· on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds without assistance
· may require customers' background checks and fingerprinting for Customer site access badges

Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time position with hours likely to be 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday during initial training, but will likely become 4 pm to 12 midnight, and will likely include working at least one weekend day. This position will also participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call coverage.

· Provide a range of technical post-sales or service delivery support to our clients on standard systems
· Maintain high level customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met
· Handle customer relation problems promptly and appropriately, escalate issues according to established procedures
· Respond to service, product, technical, and customer relations questions
· Other duties as assigned

This position:
·  requires residency in the Northern Massachusetts area. No relocation assistance available.
·  is likely to have a company car, so a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
·  will likely include afternoon, and/or evening shift work, or possibly an Alternate Work Schedule (four 10-hour days), and will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call coverage, so the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule are required
·  will, on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds without assistance, so the physical strength, balance, and dexterity to enable that ability are required
·  may require customers' background checks and fingerprinting for site access badges, so willingness to undergo and ability to pass such checks are required.


Education and Experience Required

·  Bachelor's or Associate's degree (in a technical field preferred) and,
·  1+ year work experience in field technical support, with strong technical acumen or other relevant work experience
OR
·  Vocational degree (technical field strongly preferred), or high school diploma, and
·  2+ years' work experience in field technical support, or other relevant experience

Knowledge and Skills Preferred

·  2+ years' experience troubleshooting enterprise servers strongly preferred
·  Basic understanding of technical IT support knowledge, as well as basic project management skills and communication and analytical problem-solving skills
·  Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers and support partners
·  Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations
·  Ability to work independently and be self-disciplined
·  Ability to learn and comply with organization and policies

Knowledge and Skills Required

·  Comprehensive business, technical, or functional knowledge, as well as basic project management skills and communication and analytical problem-solving skills
·  Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers and support partners
·  Ability to perform while under high-pressure situations
