About the Entry Level Field Data Center Technical Support Technician

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Services (TS) is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for an opportunity as an Entry Level Field Data Center Technical Support Technican for HPE's clients in the Nashville, TN area.

In this early career role, you'll provide onsite support to our corporate clients in Nashville and the surrounding area. Based on the clients' needs, the support services you provide will include installation and reactive break/fix, and server, networking, and storage support.

You'll have opportunity to train on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as a Field Data Center Technical Support Technician, which can lead to future careers within HPE.

This position:
· will be based in the Nashville area. No relocation assistance available.
· will likely have a company car
· will include normal working hours of Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call coverage to include weekends and holidays
· on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds without assistance
· may require customers' background checks and fingerprinting for site access badges
· may require obtaining a Secret or Top Secret US Government Clearance

Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time position with typical hours of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call coverage to include weekends and holidays.

· Provide a range of technical post-sales or service delivery support and installation services to our clients on standard systems
· Maintain high level Customer satisfaction by clarifying Customer needs and ensuring that they are met
· Handle Customer relation problems promptly and appropriately, escalate issues according to established procedures
· Respond to service, product, technical, and customer relations questions
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position:
·  requires residency in the Nashville area. No relocation assistance available.
·  will likely have a company car, so a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
·  will include standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call coverage including weekends and holidays, so the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule are required
·  will, on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds without assistance, so the physical strength, balance, and dexterity to enable that ability are required
·  will require customers' background checks and fingerprinting for site access badges, so the willingness to undergo that process and ability to pass such checks are required
·  may require obtaining a Secret or Top Secret US Government Clearance, so US citizenship and willingness to undergo (and ability to pass) a Federal background check are required




Education and Experience Required

·  Bachelor's or Associate's degree (in a technical field ideal)
OR
·  1+ year work experience in field technical support, or other relevant work experience coupled with strong mechanical aptitude and technical acumen, and
·  Vocational degree (technical field strongly preferred), or high school diploma

Knowledge and Skills Required

·  Basic mechanical aptitude to enable assembly and disassembly of computer components
·  Basic understanding of technical IT support
·  Basic project management skills preferred
·  Well-developed communication skills
·  Analytical problem-solving skills
·  Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers and support partners
·  Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations
·  Ability to work independently and be self-disciplined
·  Ability to learn and comply with organization and policies
·  Baseline proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
