Distinguished Engineer/QA Architect

  

Job Description:

   

Set and maintain quality standards for company products through the use of systematic processes. Develops, modifies, and executes software test strategies, plans and suites. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. May develop tools and environments to automate test execution. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.

Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications

·  Experience qualifying high-volume, scalable enterprise software
·  Broad understanding of a variety of networking protocols and technologies
·  Expert in at least one of the following (SDWAN, Routing, Cloud Services)
·  Strong solution level exposure to enterprise deployments
·  Demonstrated IP Routing protocol expertise (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP)
·  Understanding of Legacy WAN solutions (MPLS, Leased Line, Internet VPN, ECMP, DMVPN)
·  Experience testing Cloud products/IaaS (AWS, Azure)
·  Hands on experience in Virtualization (VMware/KVM/HyperV)
·  Substantial system and/or solution level test experience
·  Good automation development using Python
·  Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical leaders

Desired Qualifications

·  Experience with data center automation (Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic, CFEngine, Altiris, HPSA/Opsware)
·  Application Performance Monitoring expertise – Response time metrics, Application identification
·  Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment

Education and Experience Required:

·  Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
·  Typically 15+ years experience
·  Certifications: CCIE, JNCIE – Highly desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Industry expert regarding development of software quality assurance tools and languages.
·  History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software quality assurance.
·  Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Experience in overall architecture of software across multiple platforms and products.
·  Designing and integrating quality assurance processes for software running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
·  Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels.
