About the Automation Integration Engineer

HPE Pointnext Global Shared Delivery is currently seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for a role as an Automation Integration Engineer for one of HPE’s larger clients in the Irving, TX area. No relocation assistance available.

In this role, under the supervision of the Dev Manager and Architects, you will play a vital role in executing our client’s automation strategy by working across technologies and implementing solution that reduces effort and improve quality of the infrastructure service.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as an Automation Integration Engineer, which can lead to future careers within HPE.

Primary Responsibilities

As the Automation Integration Engineer, you will:

·  work with our cross-functional automation solutions team including SME’s and BA’s to analyze and develop automation solutions
·  develop the solutions according to plan and work with testers and admins to deploy the solution
·  pay careful attention to security and scalability of all solutions developed
·  evangelize automation internally and help to improve its penetration among internal customers
·  participate in our Codeathon and develop reusable code, documenting code and publishing in our internal code repo for common consumption
·  learn new automation technologies and improve the platform by developing new automation capabilities
·  perform other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required

·  1+ year(s)’ technical experience
·  Bachelor of Arts/Science (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or related area of study
·  Without a degree, two additional years’ relevant professional experience, for 3+ years in total

Knowledge and Skills Required

·  Fundamental understanding of Windows and Unix Operating system
·  Deep understand of at least one of the following automation tools: BMC Atrium Orchestrator, HP Operations Orchestrator Rundeck or Ansible
·  Deep understanding of protocols and services such as SOAP, REST, WMI, SSH and Windows Remoting
·  Deep experience with at least one of the following languages: Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, C#  or Vb.net
·  Deep experience with at least one of the following scripting languages: JavaScript, VBScript or Shell Scripting
·  Fair or better understanding of XML, JSON, Regular Expressions, XSLT , XPATH and SQL
·  Experience in one of the database technologies such as MySQL, MS SQL Server or Oracle preferred
·  Expert level understanding and implementation of RESTful APIs
·  Good understanding of Jenkins, Git, Altassian developer tools desired
·  Comfortable with frequent, incremental code, testing, and deployment
·  Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment
·  Understanding of configuration management tools such as Chef and SCCM is a plus
·  Knowledge desirable in at least one containerization technologies like Docker / Kubernetes / Mesos
·  Knowledge/experience in API first design desired
