Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $32.16 - $42.88 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
Union Position: This position is part of the Local 6 Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.
What will I be doing?
As a Painter, you would be responsible for painting, maintaining and repairing surfaces of the building, furniture, rooms and equipment throughout the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the hotel and facilities
· Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing paint, matching paint and using brushes, rollers and spray-guns
· Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces including, but not limited to, hanging vinyl paper, fabric and foil wall coverings
· Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering
· Manage related supply inventory
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 2 years of commercial painting experience required; vinyl wall covering experience preferred.
· Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, using paints, plaster, and other materials while performing inspections and making necessary repairs.
· Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively.
· Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
· Stand or walk for extended periods or an entire shift.
· Frequent bending and kneeling required.
· Full mobility required throughout all areas of the hotel property.
· Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
· Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required
