Job Description Summary
The SPE (Supplier Performance Engineer) develops and maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure they are executing our purchase orders in accordance to GEV Grid Solutions requirements. Participates in the company initiative to expand the supply base globally. Collaborates with all stakeholders (internal & external) for sustained annual performance targets across Quality, Delivery, and Cost with nominated critical poor performing Suppliers.
Job Description
Primary Activities
· Driving supplier selection, defined by the Strategic Sourcing Plan, through robust qualification processes.
· Supporting, collecting, evaluating and performing audit requests from the Product Lines.
· Conferring with suppliers and analyzing supplier questions to determine factors affecting performance (Quality, Delivery and Cost).
· Performing periodic & surveillance supplier audits and coordinating supplier self-assessments as required.
· Evaluating supplier quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives and supplier capacities & capabilities.
· Identifying competency gaps within the supply chain process by analysis of Key Performance Indicators and intelligence gathering to develop, introduce, and lead Supplier Improvement Plans
· Working with Product Lines and Global Commodity Leaders to address critical issues related to customer needs and supplier performance.
· Identifying potential new suppliers and preparing developing plan.
· Developing and maintaining communications with all levels of staff and suppliers by communicating openly and honestly, treating all people with dignity, respect and courtesy.
· Providing leadership during investigations of major problems and/or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product development and procurement of parts.
Qualifications
· Expected: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Preferred: Previous quality engineering and/or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment to include raw material, stamping, fabrications and assembly of detail components. Low cost country supply chain experience.
Skills & Attributes
· Fluency in English language, both written and spoken.
· Good knowledge of German language, both written and spoken.
· Strong knowledge of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
· Ability to read and analyze technical procedures, drawings, governmental regulations and quality management rules.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
· Very good ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Practical knowledge of MS Office and Windows.
· Excellent interpersonal skills: independence in action, great communication skills, excellent organization, proactive approach, assertiveness, openness, ethics & compliance mindset, team-player attitutde.
· Readiness to travel up to 50%.
Location:
Supplier Performance Engineer to be based in Poland or Romania .
