Role Summary/Purpose
This position will be responsible for managing and mentoring GPS, India sourcing team handling sourcing of BoP equipment for Projects in Middle East and India region.
Essential Responsibilities
• Ensure prompt and effective communication with the team.
• Ensure compliance to processes, tools, guidelines and business directives
• Resource planning and resource management
• Create and maintain a team culture as a basis for successful and motivated teamwork.
• Trouble shooting and support to team members as and when required.
• Ensure on time placement of POs and within the defined budget
• Collaborate with supporting resources (engineering, quality, global supply chain, and regional teams) to achieve desired outcomes.
• Support & guide the team on critical negotiations including price bench-marking, commercial terms, pay terms etc.
• Developing sourcing strategy/ procurement plan for the project (in collaboration with commodity leads) aligned to project and business objectives.
• Support Buyers & PPMs in contract claim management and lead/ participate in critical supplier claims, including liaising with Contract manager or legal for support as required.
• Support and provide inputs or comments to Project procurement manager on documents and strategies like procurement plan, vendor list etc. and also ensure that the same are followed by the team.
• Supporting sourcing initiatives and programs, including PCO initiatives, localisation and in-sourcing opportunities.
• working with projects and finance to optimize the BOP schedules to minimize inventory/early receipts, while optimizing quarterly revenue.
• Ensure appropriate risk, claim and contract management in procurement.
• Ensure expediting plan is prepared & regularly updated
• Ensure equipment/ packages are delivered on time within the assigned expediting budget.
• Networking and maintaining relationship with key / important suppliers at appropriate level.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university
• About 10 years of relevant professional experience (preferably in power industry) of which 2- 3 years experience in managing a team/ group.
• Good commercial and contract management knowledge
