Job Description Summary

The Fuel Component Operation (FCO) Supervisor leads a team responsible for the manufacturing of components for nuclear fuel bundles which fuel nuclear power plants. In partnership with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s safety, quality and technical teams, you will provide leadership for FCO’s hourly workforce. You will be responsible for team safety, procedure compliance, product quality, manufacturing efficiency and positive team member engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Be responsible for meeting the shift's the production teams’ strict EHS requirements, product quality standards and production schedule commitments.
·  Enforce a strong EHS compliance culture with emphasis on employee involvement.  Ensure work tasks are performed in accordance with industry standards. 
·  Lead a strong quality culture compliant to the Quality Management System.  Support quality requirements and initiatives.
·  Partner with area manager to develop shop production plan other shifts.
·  Assure operation planning - provides direction to support needs of production area, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, training, time and managing attendance/timekeeping etc.  
·  Lead corrective action discussions, and other performance management topics.
·  Support Human Performance Observation program.  
·  Select, train, develop, and provide daily direction.
·  Conduct annual performance, progression, and probationary appraisals and other performance conversations for employees in area.
·  Lead relevant shop projects and initiatives.
·  Ensure team members are provided adequate training, resources and support to assure safe and compliant manufacturing practices in a nuclear regulated environment.
·  Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing. Focus team on constantly seeking opportunity for improvement. High-level utilization of Lean Manufacturing principles to facilitate design and implementation of continuous improvement of processes with the team.
·  Work with manufacturing engineering, support functions and manufacturing leadership to provide technical, quality and production leadership. Identify, effectively communicate, and own to resolution issues that may arise.
·  Communicate business goals, programs, and processes to team.
·  Promote team engagement and ownership. Champion positive employee relations. Foster employee engagement and recognition. 
·  Develop and support the growth of all team employees.
·  Supervisor weekend overtime to support business needs.
·  Serve on the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and assure performance of emergency protocols for FCO product lines. Qualify as building manager after adequate training period. 
·  Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus two (3) years of leadership experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.

OR

·  Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus three (5) years of leadership or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.

OR

·  High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus seven (7) years of experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership position.

Desired Qualifications:

·  BS/BA in a technical field
·  Supervisory or managerial experience
·  Machine or fabrication shop experience
·  Proven ability to create real and positive change.
·  Proven facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Strong organizational skills and ability to both resolve daily urgent issues at the same time as working on continuous improvement projects.
·  Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
·  Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification. Practical experience with identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes based on Lean. Experience in training and positively influencing teams of workers during implementation of Lean changes.
·  GE Program graduate, e.g., OMLP, EEDP (GE employees only).

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day.  Ability to move around and under manufacturing equipment. 
·  Ability to use computers.
·  Ability to support weekend overtime.
·  Proficiently utilize a variety of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook are most common) applications daily for data tracking, reporting, etc
·  An offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
·  This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

The base pay range for this position is $90-115K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 7/8/2025.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
