We are looking for a Project Document Controller to manage and streamline project documentation, ensuring smooth communication and compliance across all stakeholders. Your role will be pivotal in organizing, tracking, and transmitting crucial technical documents for onshore and offshore substation control and protection systems.

You'll be the key point of contact for document control on critical energy projects, supporting the Project Engineering Director and collaborating with engineers, project managers, clients, and partners. You'll oversee the flow of information, track document deliverables, manage communication with clients, and uphold the highest standards in documentation processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Document Management & Reporting: Maintain the project's Master Document List, ensuring accurate and timely updates in our Document Management System (Windchill, Autodesk Construction Cloud). Monitor and report the status of document deliverables, highlighting overdue tasks or information gaps.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main interface with clients regarding document submissions, approvals, and feedback. Track and incorporate client comments, ensuring efficient resubmissions as needed.
  • Process Optimisation: Support the creation and implementation of document management procedures. Identify areas for improvement and provide functional assistance and training to project teams.
  • On-Site & Final Documentation: Assist site teams with necessary documents during the construction phase and organize project archives upon completion. Coordinate the collation of operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all documentation adheres to quality standards, GE work instructions, and project management guidelines. Address non-conformances and drive improvements.
  • Safety & Collaboration: Champion a safety-first approach, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Engage in proactive discussions and actions to maintain a secure working environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong experience in document control, preferably within large-scale or complex projects.
  • Familiarity with document management systems; experience with Windchill and Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to manage large volumes of technical documentation efficiently.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
  • Engineering or technical background is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and able to "hit the ground running."
