Performance Engineer - EDCP Performance
Evendale (Hamilton County)
Job description
Job Description Summary
Military Integrated Performance & Operability (MIPO) is at the center of how GE Aerospace's military engines perform in the real world. MIPO owns steady-state and transient performance predictions, analysis, and engine operability for all GE Aerospace military product lines, directly shaping how our engines power critical missions around the globe.
As a Performance Engineer for Evendale Defense Combat Propulsion (EDCP) Performance, you will provide technical analysis, feedback, and consultation for the larger EDCP organization. EDCP is a vibrant and growing organization supporting fielded engines for the US Air Force, US Navy, Foreign Militaries, and NPI offerings for Edison Works. This position is intended for an early-career engineer who is eager to learn and grow in the aerothermal engine performance discipline. You will work under the guidance of more experienced team members to coordinate, execute, and report on engine performance assessments that may span the EDCP product line.
You will develop skills in cycle analysis, performance modeling, and data interrogation, while collaborating closely with engineers in Operability, Systems, Aero, Heat Transfer, Controls, and hardware design.
Job Description

· Support program deliverables: Contribute to margin assessments, performance audits, and field investigations for engines across the EDCP portfolio. Help prepare technical input for program reviews, technical packages, customer responses, and internal decision-making.
· Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in Operability, Systems, Aero, Heat Transfer, Controls, and hardware design to understand how engine performance interacts with other disciplines. Participate in cross-functional working sessions to resolve technical issues and implement performance-related changes.
· Technical communication and documentation: Document analyses, assumptions, and conclusions in a clear and traceable manner. Support preparation of presentations, technical memos, and reports that communicate performance findings to internal stakeholders and external customers under the direction of senior engineers.
· Work planning and execution: Manage assigned tasks to meet schedule, quality, and scope expectations, with regular guidance and feedback. Proactively communicate status, risks, and needs for support to technical leaders and project leads.
