As an Industry Site Manager, you will play an essential role in the successful planning and execution of our projects in the Industrial sector. You will provide technical and site-based leadership to other field engineers and our customer-facing teams. Among your responsibilities will be overseeing the site budgeting, pre-planning, installation and commissioning phases to ensure we deliver valuable system solutions with an excellent operational rigour.
In this role you will focus on:
Tender Phase (ITO)
- Coordinate costing & scheduling of site activities. Such as costs for the electromechanical installation works.
- Prepare tender documents related to construction & Installation activities.
- Initially prepare and arrange to take possession of the site infrastructure and develop and plan temporary and permanent site infrastructure.
- Actively participate in project teams from feed stages all the way through to completion.
Execution Phase (OTR)
- Implementing, Monitoring, and reporting of the Health, Safety and Environmental performance of the project site as per GE Vernova EHS standards in collaboration with Site Construction Staff.
- Responsible for preparation of staffing plan, mobilization of site teams & follow up of actuals vs. plan.
- Liaise with design & engineering offices for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works.
- Ensure Construction Operating Rhythm is deployed on all sites.
- Monitoring, recording, and reporting of the contractor work progress along with Site construction teams.
- Publish progress reports and provide key inputs into Project monthly reports.
- Responsible for managing the risks and opportunities related to Construction & Commissioning activities.
- Monitor key construction events, through sample inspection of these activities to check that the contractors are complying with the contract requirements and the contractors' project Quality Plan.
- Travelling frequently and for extended periods of time to customer project sites (mainly domestic in the UK).
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
- Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field, or significant relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment focusing on site management.
- NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction or similar.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Project applications.
- Demonstrable experience of working with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
- Previous experience of undertaking the role of a Construction/Site Manager on a Medium/Large scale installation project (or similar).
- Familiarity with the oversight of installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, such as MV/LV switchgear, transformers, rotating machines, etc.
- Valid passport and driver’s license.
