We’re looking for a proactive, customer-focused Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and support our state-of-the-art 3D metal printing systems (laser-based machines). In this role, you’ll be the face of Colibrium Additive, based in Cork —solving complex technical issues, enabling customer productivity, and shaping the future of additive manufacturing.

Job Description
What You’ll Do
· Install and optimize systems: Perform installation, commissioning, calibration, and performance tuning of 3D metal printing systems to ensure peak reliability and uptime
· Maintain and troubleshoot: Execute preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs—both on-site and remotely—to resolve issues quickly and safely
· Own the service workflow: Document service activities, manage cases in our service CRM, and maintain accurate records, parts usage, and reports
· Champion the customer: Provide hands-on training, best practices, and guidance to help customers get the most from their systems
· Safeguard quality: Conduct inspections, adhere to procedures, and ensure work meets the highest safety and quality standards
· Drive improvement: Capture and escalate quality deviations, recurring issues, and machine insights to engineering and product teams
· Build relationships: Serve as a trusted partner to customer teams, fostering satisfaction, adoption, and long-term success
· Adapt and deliver: Balance planned PMs with urgent interventions, and prioritize effectively in dynamic environments
What You’ll Bring
· Experience: Demonstrated background in service and/or field service for complex electromechanical systems, industrial equipment, or machine tools
· Education: Qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical apprenticeship/qualification)
· Technical skills: Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and controls; familiarity with lasers, sensors, pneumatics, PLCs, and safety systems is a plus
· Travel readiness: Willingness to travel frequently across Ireland and the EMEA region, sometimes on short notice
· Work authorization: EU or UK work authorization that allows work in Ireland (or appropriate Irish work authorization)
· Communication: Fluent in English; strong documentation and customer-facing communication skills
· Location: Based in or willing to relocate to the Cork area; clean driving record
Nice to Have
· Experience with additive manufacturing, CNC/laser systems, vacuum systems, or industrial automation
· Exposure to service CRMs, remote diagnostics tools, and digital service workflows
· Knowledge of EHS standards and quality systems (e.g., ISO)
