Job description
Overview
The main role within this function is to promote consistency and excellence in Visual Merchandise standards across Europe. Key areas include the coordination and support at new store openings, and developing a programme of training clinics to ensure Visual Merchandise standards are maintained. Frequent contact and the ongoing training and development of the Regional Visual Merchandise Coordinators is one of the primary responsibilities of the VM Manager.
Responsibilities
VM Standards & Store Layout
Managing the VM Coordinators Field, the Visual Merchandise Manager is responsible for
identifying & implementing new VM opportunities throughout Europe, from visual presentation to store layout to drive sales, and act as a commercial business partner with the RVP’s & DM’s.
VM Clinics
Promotion of consistency & excellence in VM standards is the goal in this important area. Working closely with the VM Coordinators, the VM Manager is responsible to ensure the process of identifying training needs, scheduling and execution of VM training is carried out. The VM Manager will also play a key role in developing in-store Training initiatives, such as the VM Passbook.
New Store Openings and Remodels
The VM Manager is responsible for coordinating the New Store Opening programme, ensuring all VM displays ( liaising with VM Coordinator EHQ ) & fixtures ( liasing with Real Estate ) are delivered on time, and that on-site support is available prior to opening. Related to this area is the ongoing development of the ‘pre-retailing’ initiative.
Communication
The VM Manager working with the VM Coordinators is responsible for implementing a Regional communication structure as a means to improving the VM communication to the Field Teams.
Special projects/tasks
Additional related special projects and specific tasks may also be required on an ad hoc basis, depending on the needs of the business and as required by the Visual Merchandise Director or VP Marketing.
Qualifications
· University education preferably in design or marketing
· Relevant working experience (minimum of 3 years)
· Well developed analytical skills and the ability to combine these skills with a hands-on and operational attitude
· Computer literate – MS Office & e-mail systems
· Strong negotiation skills
· Fluent in English, and knowledge of other European languages desirable
· Pro-active, well organized and flexible with a customer oriented mind set
