Overview
This is a temporary, 7-month contract.
This job is accountable for a diverse range of projects, such as assisting with the development, coordination, and review of intake planning and inventory management, the objective being to improve turnover and increase gross margin.
The Associate Planner will be guided and coached by a supervisor to gain a broad base knowledge of various aspects of Financial, Assortment, Space and Store Planning.
Responsibilities
· Assist Product team - run and analyze daily, weekly, monthly reports
· Create Ad Hoc reports, analyze the data and give constructive feedback
· Coordinate intake planning process, po request, additional and unschedules, according to set financial targets
· Work closely with the warehouse teams to efficiently manage and plan intake flows.
· Proactive communication on intake movements
· Assist Planner in daily tasks for future development
· With Planner, share in establishing working relationships with vendors to strengthen business and support company strategies
· Establish & analyze vendor performance targets with vendors & team
· Track P.O.’s to ensure timely & accurate delivery, resolve discrepancies between P.O. & actual receipt, communicate actions
· Ensure that targets are met
Qualifications
· Educated to ‘advanced’ level, either at University or College, ideally would have successfully studied subjects such as Economics, Business, Retail etc.
· PC literate with advanced level in Excel required
· Sound problem solving & analytical skills
· Proactive and “hands on” attitude to work
· Ability to work under pressure and with own initiative
· High degree of concern for effectiveness
· Enthusiastic, goal oriented team player with a desire to join the biggest in the business
· Aspiration to work in a fast paced retail environment
