Job Summary:

As Tax Processing Staff, you'll deliver submitted tax returns in accordance with established Tax practice guidelines. You'll use your tax and technology skills to help produce returns that are error-free, logged on time, processed and assembled electronically. You'll also track the status of submitted returns, and scan and electronically save applicable paper tax documents. You may also be asked to carry out other Tax engagement-related support activities within an office or region.

In this role you'll work independently, with periodic supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
·  Develop in-depth understanding of all applicable federal, state, and local tax return types and assembly/filing requirements
·  Understand and adhere to tax methodology requirements for processing tax return products, and other practice-specific policies.
·  Proactively support the eProcessing and eDelivery guidance for the Tax practice and sub-service line
·  Frequently monitor Tax processing Outlook mailboxes so that these are up-to-date for submitted work
·  Review electronically submitted returns and instruction sheets for completeness/accuracy. Follow up with the tax return submitter as needed, prior to processing returns
·  Accurately and efficiently log, eProcess, copy/print/assemble and distribute tax returns. This work should meet the guidelines for established tax methodologies and standard tax processing/assembly. Strive for first-time accuracy to minimize any re-work
·  Confirm completeness and accuracy of your own work. May also check the work of others to confirm there are zero defects
·  Scan and quality check necessary manual tax return documents and other engagement documents into Electronic Compliance File (ECF)/eDocs
·  Actively maintain metrics and other relevant departmental production information
·  Maintain tax processing technology and equipment, and appropriate levels of necessary supplies, by planning ahead for busy periods
·  Proactively identify potential problems, and quickly alert leaders
·  May function as lead processor in small to mid-sized locations
·  Focus efforts on client needs, providing quality service, timely turnaround, and client satisfaction. Demonstrate a sense of urgency in responding to clients' needs
·  Understand and adhere to firm, Tax and legal policies for quality, risk mitigation, confidentiality, and data privacy. These cover all types of tax return products, and related information. Promptly escalate any issues to appropriate resources
·  Seek opportunities to identify/address customer needs. Participate in initiatives to improve processes and services
·  Actively share knowledge and work with others, whether locally or across geographies
·  Anticipate and effectively respond to the changing tax and support environment. Keep abreast of changes in firm methodologies, technologies, and office procedures
·  Utilize relationships with key contacts, and become recognized as a knowledge resource
To qualify, candidates must have:
·  Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
·  Excellent skills in computer/technology, and tax technology applications (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Engagement Access Database, ECF/eDocs). Aptitude to learn new applications and perform work electronically, as well as use paper media when necessary
·  Highly motivated work ethic. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and take responsibility for accuracy, quality and timely completion of work
·  Ability to gain skills in planning ahead, time management and productivity
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office, and navigating through Tax Practice Guideline Tool (TPG&T), Americas Workplace Services Community Home Space, and other repositories/databases
·  A minimum of 1-2 years related work experience; experience with tax returns a plus
·  High School diploma with some college or equivalent work experience
