Whether advising on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital, we combine a unique set of skills, insight and experience to deliver focused, thoughtful valuation advice to our clients. Because how companies manage their capital agenda today will define their competitive position tomorrow, and that’s where you’ll fit in.
The opportunity
As a Capital Equipment Valuation Engineer Intern, you’ll be taking and combining engineering and financial aspects to value manufacturing operations, utilities and telecommunications assets. In a role where there is no typical day, you’ll need to be able to jump between analytics, modeling, client presentations but also travel out to plants to interview financial managers, production engineers, and CFO’s responsible for their manufacturing operations. It’s an opportunity to understand how things are manufactured, come together, and how a business works in corporate environments across the globe. You will have the opportunity to be part of a larger Valuation Solutions team that creates and delivers broad, analytics-enabled solutions that align to our client’s focus on corporate finance, strategy, buy and integrate or sell and separate decisions, and reshaping of results.
What to expect
You’ll need to be adaptable, and be able to split your time between different roles and responsibilities such as performing on-site manufacturing diligence, interacting with clients and working in a corporate environment. Your work will vary by engagement – one day you could be working on a project to value a chemical plant and the next day you might be helping to analyze the value of telecommunication satellites or preparing client presentations and proposals. On top of this, you’ll need to be comfortable with a hybrid role, encompassing analytical solutions in both engineering and finance.

· Interviewing financial, accounting, and manufacturing / engineering management
· Analyzing the impacts of operating statistics, production capacities, operability issues, capital requirements and replacement technologies
· Presenting directly to our client’s leadership team to explain the work you’re doing as part of the team
To qualify for the role you must have

· A strong academic record, including course work that EY deems relevant to this position
· A demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
· Flexibility and a willingness to travel
· A driver’s license valid in the U.S.
Ideally, you’ll also have
· Superior project management, interpersonal, communication, teaming, organizational and technology skills
