SSG provides investment and acquisition guidance (including commercial, product, and technology diligence), strategy/value creation and transaction advisory services to companies and investors in the software economy. EY-Parthenon’s SSG teams have completed hundreds of successful projects and provide a unique capability to help companies make critical decisions and complete successful transactions.

SSG team members conduct primary and secondary research, synthesize and analyze data, build and test hypotheses, and deliver strategic advice to our clients to help them make informed decisions. We have developed the models, industry contacts, benchmarks and methods designed for the software economy. Additionally, SSG works with internal Executive Directors who have been CTOs and CEOs in early and late stage software companies. The combination of the Executive Director team, our Consultants and Vice Presidents with deep software expertise provides a unique opportunity for you to learn from the best in the field.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

Associates participate as valued members of case teams, helping clients address their most pressing strategic challenges. Associates identify information sources, assemble data, perform analyses, structure arguments and develop and deliver presentations. Training is given in key business concepts and analytical methods immediately upon joining the firm and throughout their EY-Parthenon career.  

 

 

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

·  Perform secondary research using a variety of sources (e.g., analyst reports, market research reports, news articles)
·  Executing various analyses (e.g., customer segmentation, market sizing, competitor analysis, macroeconomic forecasting) to support the strategic recommendations
·  Designing and executing in-depth interview guides with key organizational stakeholders, industry experts and customers
·  Analyzing business plans and pro-forma financial models to help identify key assumptions and drivers
·  Maintaining relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and other internal teams on the engagement

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

·  Outstanding academic performance, with a bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1 year of experience. 
·  Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities
·  Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment
·  Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
·  Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary (approximately 20-40%)

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

·  A bachelor’s degree in computer science
·  A passion for software
·  Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills
