Job description

 

This role is for an experienced Skype engineer, with good knowledge around the Skype Enterprise Voice (Cloud and On-Prem) and the associated services. The individual will be providing support for areas involving Skype Engineering, Skype l4 support with a good understanding of Skype Engineering and surrounding technologies (Cloud and On-Prem). The role is part of a global Microsoft Skype Engineer team in a large, complex and multinational environment.

 

 

What are you going to do?

 

·  Understand the nuances of the Skype for Business services across geographic regions and guide appropriate changes, solutions and services within the directives of the role’s strategic remit
·  Utilize knowledge of culture, people behavior, financial management, marketing, adoption, service delivery and technology to prepare for executive decisions
·  Consultative questioning, influence management and critical thinking to understand current directives and recommend viable solutions that are both effective and supporting the value to the business
·  Escalate and negotiate complex and conflicting change issues, handle multiple and shifting priorities across a broad spectrum of operating environments and drive solutions that are both financially sound

 

What do we need from you?

 

·  Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Skype for business
·  Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure focusing on IP Telephony technologies from the major vendors with an emphasis on Cisco Unified Communications and Microsoft Skype for business.
·  Excellent knowledge of Unified communications environments with a focus on mobility and demonstrated ability to integrate these tools into existing environments.  Certification and design experience in Microsoft Skype for business and Cisco a plus.
·  Knowledge of dependent IP telephony devices such as SBA’s and SBC’s
·  Understanding of other technologies such as Active Directory, Windows servers, DNS, and load balancing
·  Active Directory and Windows Server knowledge
·  DNS and DHCP Knowledge
·  Knowledge of load balancers
·  Basic networking knowledge and skills
·  Basic knowledge of firewall and TCPIP port
·  Substantial, extensive and demonstrated experience in various aspects of technology infrastructure design and implementation, with tangible, relevant and demonstrated experience in delivering projects within scope and budget
·  Demonstrated experience in dealing with external vendors and suppliers in the Telecommunications industry
·  Experience troubleshooting end user issues 
·  Polycom IP phones experiences
·  A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
·  7-years or more working in an Skype Engineer or appropriate function
·  Certification in Microsoft Skype for Business
·  Advanced level of English (oral and written)

 

 

Shift: Monday to Friday from 9 to 6 PM.
