EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior level role within its Commodities Markets Technology Enablement team.

 

Commodities Markets is an Americas competency based service within FAAS that provides technology services and solutions as well as other advisory services to companies in various industries with commodity operations and exposure. As part of a large global firm with a deep resource base, the Commodities Markets service has the ability to bring together a variety of expertise from across the firm to provide a holistic approach for its clients.

 

The Technology Enablement team focuses on all aspects of commodities trading information technology including CTRM/ETRM selection and implementation, analytics, data and information solutions - along with the entire supply/distribution chain and corporate functions. EY is positioning its Commodities Markets practice as a major player in the CTRM/ETRM space, thus providing the opportunity for individuals to be a part of the growth and build out of the practice.

 

Each team member is expected to have a good working knowledge of commodity markets, systems, data, instruments / products, upcoming regulatory changes / pronouncements and key commodity operating functions across the transaction lifecycle. 

 

When our clients are facing complex governance, technology, or technical implementation issues, they look to us to set it right. Whether a system conversion has been miscalculated or they simply don’t have the knowledge in the right area of the commodities market, we provide the answers to the big questions nobody else can.

The opportunity

Our commodities markets is a national competency that sits within our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice and is growing exponentially. Your key responsibilities

·  Designs and develops custom extensions to tailor CTRM system implementations to the unique needs of the client
·  Develops integration interfaces and data conversion processes
·  Designs and develops customized reports
·  Creates design for the hardware and development platform for CTRM implementations
·  Executes CTRM system performance tests
·  Maintains a strong client focus by being responsive to client requests and developing/maintaining productive working relationships with client personnel.
·  Stays informed of current business, economic and regulatory developments relevant to our clients.
·  Assists with the development of training materials and/or thought leadership assets for both internal and external use.
·  Collaborates with team members to set individual and team goals and responsibilities.
·  Contributes ideas and opinions to the engagement and practice teams and proactively listen and seek out team members’ ideas and views.

 

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must showcase a proven track record with the following:

·  A bachelor's degree and approximately 3-6 years of related work experience
·  Experience with one or more of the following: C#, .NET, SQL, XML, AVS/JVS
·  Experience with SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio is a plus
·  Technical experience implementing one or more of the following Energy Trading Risk Management applications – Allegro, Endur, RightAngle 
·  Working knowledge of how commodity markets operate (i.e., power, gas, crude, metals and/or refined products)
·  Relevant work experience, which could include industry experience gained as a technology, trading, data, risk, or back-office professional
·  Ability to effectively lead others and take ownership of deliverables
·  Strong technical and analytical skills
·  Strong communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
·  Desire and ability to work closely with engagement team members and clients
·  Relevant certification (preferred but not required)

Successful candidates must also have willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time. Travel is predominantly within North America.
