Resource Coordinator (12 month contract 2019) - Sydney

Job description

The Resource Coordinator is responsible for working closely with key internal stakeholders in the practice to create resource solutions to meet client engagement needs, as well as working with other Resource Coordinators (locally and across the area) to share information, ideas, workloads, and apply a consistent best practice resource planning framework across the business. Primary areas of responsibility include the allocation of staff resources, resolving staffing conflicts, and monitoring availability through the firm’s Resource Management System (Retain).

The opportunity
You will have a chance to work internally with the business, alongside stakeholders at different ranks and get exposure to the different parts of the business such as Finance, HR and Recruitment. The Resource Coordinator reports directly to the Resource Manager and maintains close liaison with:
·  Other members of the Resource team.
·  Key staff within the Finance and HR support functions.
·  The Assurance Leadership team
·  All Partners, Managers, and Staff within the Business Unit.

Your key responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·  Monitor and process planning requests and adjustments submitted by engagement personnel.
·  Analyse and challenge scheduling requests against key engagement metrics and experiences sought by staff to ensure the appropriate allocation of resources.
·  Monitor availability and resolve resourcing conflicts
·  Prepare availability and chargeability reports analysing for inconsistencies, investigating and challenging as necessary.
·  Provide education to client servicing personnel around the resourcing process
·  Perform other related duties as required, in line with best practice resourcing guidelines.
Skills and attributes for success
·  Proficiency in MS applications.
·  Intermediate MS Excel knowledge is a pre-requisite. 
To qualify for the role you must have
·  Relevant work experience as a team/administrative assistant.
·  Some experience in planning (resource and/or materials) is ideal but not essential.
·  Experience in information/data analysis.
·  Key interest in resource management framework. 
·  Understanding of basic financial measurements relating to resources and engagements including production, utilisation and variances (or a willingness to learn in this area).

·  Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously.
·  Takes responsibility for actions, outcomes and deliverables.
·  Excellent organisational and time management skills.
