Job Summary:

 

•       Responsible for the development of target architectures and solutions with emphasis on reuse, scalability and reliability

•       Instrumental in identification, definition and implementation of reusable components and standards. Responsible for adherence to these standards and consumption of reusable components across products and portfolios

•       Works with stakeholders to build a holistic view of the organization/function/team’s technical strategies, processes, information and assets and ensures that technology strategy supports the organisation’s business objectives.

•       Evangelizes and encourages importance of technical quality, emerging technologies, sharing & experimentation across the org through mentoring, hackathons, communities etc.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

 

As a Solution Architect, you will:

·       Works closely with business to architect, design and deliver the technical solutions with focus on meeting business requirements and broader technical aspects such as costs, data privacy & sovereignty, business continuity management, adoption and integrations/relationships with other solutions.   

·       Instrumental in identification, definition and implementation of reusable components and standards. Responsible for adherence to these standards and consumption of reusable components across products and portfolios

·       Provide Architecture leadership & subject matter expertise to client engagements focusing on complex & innovative products and reusable components

·       Develops architecture plans, driving towards the appropriate balance of cost, risk and quality, and effectively and consistently communicates this to stakeholders. Reviews and contributes to solution architecture documents and other artefacts as required.

·       Acts as a bridge between technical and business audience during solution development

·       Facilitate reuse and compliance of standards across all product and portfolios. Ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly

·       Sets architectural direction, builds consensus, mediates conflicts, and helps to create an environment which solicits positive contributions from all participants, including Technical Architects, engineering teams, project managers, business analysts, test teams, Information Security and Operations

·       Cultivates and builds relationships across business, IT and vendors / analysts to gather intelligence and bring insight about the wider enterprise picture and enable the leveraging of emerging industry technologies and approaches within SA

·       Acts as key enabler for organization’s digital transformation and transition towards a products based organization.

·       Responsible for delivery of the product and drive this through sprint delivery and periodic demos to the business teams

 

 

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

 

·       Convert business and technical requirements into technical solutions

·       Assess and manage multiple technical challenges simultaneously

·       Ensure technical deliverables meet schedules and estimates

·       Apply judgment when implementing application development/engineering methodologies, processes, and practices, to meet all project requirements; including product design, information security, code maintainability and reliability

·       Anticipate project issues before they occur, and work with teammates to identify and implement solutions with relevant stakeholders

·       Should possess good product instinct and excellent project management skills to push projects over the finish line with sound planning and persistent execution

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

 

·       Deep subject matter expertise in one or more technology areas with broad understanding of current as well as emerging technologies and ability to apply that in EY business context.

·       Strategic business acumen and understanding of organizational strategy and ability to design information systems to deliver that strategy

·       Deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability etc

·       Understanding of latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options. How they can be used in different scenarios.

·       Expert in defining, designing and developing distributed and scalable products and services, including reusable domain-specific microservices on multi-platform /hybrid clouds (such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Rackspace, VMware, or OpenStack)

·       Understands our organizational structure, to facilitate work beyond the immediate technical team

·       Experience with Agile & DevSecOps methodologies; Understands various IT methodologies

·       Broad understanding of IT Services, including service offerings, technical standards and policies, technical and business strategies as well as organizational structure

 

Supervision Responsibilities:

 

·       Provides formal and informal coaching on-the-job to grow team members to their full potential.

·       Delivers results through others, leveraging the ability to lead through influence

·       Receives general direction from leadership of the Product Architecture & Technology Strategy group

 

 

Other Requirements:

 

 

Regular international and domestic travel. Reasonable extension of the working day should be expected commensurate with the needs to fulfil the obligations of the role

 

Job Requirements:

Education:

 

Required

·       Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from Tier 1 school in design/engineering.

Preferred

·       Bachelor’s/Master’s from NID, IDC, IIT, or an international institutes.

 

Experience:

 

·       10+ years of experience at very large web scale product companies with exposure to senior leaders and C-level management.

·       At least 5+ years of experience as Technical architect, product engineering etc.,.

·       You are Glocal , ie.

o   Can coordinate / collaborate with teams & stakeholders in multiple geographies

o   Manage teams with participants in multiple geographies.

o   Can quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues within and outside your location

·       Solid business acumen, management and marketing communication skills

·       Significant experience in presenting ideas, products, concept papers to varied audiences.
