The opportunity
If you join EY’s Nordic legal team you will become part of large Professional Services Organization that is dedicated to the provision of world class in-house legal services to all of EY’s service lines.
This role of Legal Counsel reports to the Country General Counsel for Sweden and supports the organization’s member firms in Sweden and the Nordic region. The Nordic region includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
The Nordic legal team currently consist of 12 lawyers and as one of our colleagues is heading for a leave of absence, we are now looking for an additional skilled lawyer to join our team. In this position you would be one of four lawyers in the general counsel’s office in Sweden. You would work closely with the Swedish organization supporting all areas of business. You would also interact and support the business on a Nordic level as needed. The role involves divers and challenging tasks in a rapidly changing commercial and regulatory environment.
Your key responsibilities
In this position your tasks would include:
· Work in cooperation with the Regional General Counsel and other colleagues in the legal team to facilitate efficient and high-quality legal services in Sweden and across the Nordics.
· Manage and coordinate legal advice and assistance to all practice areas.
· Draft contracts and participate in commercial contract negotiations with clients and service providers.
· Support in compliance related matters such as legal issues and assessments related to AML and GDPR.
· Support business transactions.
· Develop relationships with all relevant business stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.
· Assist in leading the Nordic legal team’s best practices, including: Development and maintenance of Legal Policies & Checklists, Do’s & Don’ts, FAQs, Templates & Guidance notes. Provision of regular training to internal clients on key legal and regulatory issues.
· Contribute to the good spirit, culture of collaboration and positive attitude in the legal team and in interactions with other colleagues and functions throughout the organization.
Skills and attributes for success
· Experience from contract review and negotiations.
· Excellent command of written and spoken English.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Experience and ability to work cross-border with the ability to identify areas where local legal knowledge is needed and closely cooperate with other members in the legal team.
· Strong social skills and the ability to communicate efficiently with people of various backgrounds, seniority and expertise.
· Developed commercial awareness with an outcome orientated approach and the ability to apply legal principles pragmatically.
To qualify for the role you must have
· Qualified to practice law in Sweden.
· At least 2-3 years of post-qualification relevant legal experience.
Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience from working in a law firm and/or multi-national corporation.
