Our Financial Services Innovations Incentives Tax Services team sits within our EMEIA Financial Services Tax Advisory practice and is a successful team of tax and technology specialists who work with a variety of Financial Services organisations. This is a rapidly expanding area of tax in consequence of increasing government incentives combined with the major planned investment in digital technology by Financial Services companies.

Our team is well known and respected in the market and the work is technically challenging, creative and requires you to work closely with our clients’ businesses.

The opportunity
 
This offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a background in Corporate Tax compliance or advisory to join EY’s fast growing and highly successful Financial Services Innovation Incentives Tax team. 

The team are looking for enthusiastic tax professionals to be part of agrowing and dynamic specialist practice.

Your key responsibilities
 
You will primarily be responsible for the preparation of R&D tax claims for clients in the Financial Services sector. In doing so the specific activities of your role will include:

·  Ensuring technical tax excellence and applying this knowledge to identifying eligible R&D expenditure
·  Understanding and interpreting financial databases and ERP systems
·  Help to develop efficient methodologies and practical costing solutions to identify eligible R&D costs embedded in large and disparate databases and other extensive costing information
·  Work collaboratively with GTH to ensure the timely delivery of client deliverables
·  Ad hoc support for Patent Box and intangible queries

Skills and attributes for success
 
·  Knowledge of excel spreadsheet including pivot tables and data cleansing is preferable
·  Enjoys problems solving in terms of system process and the creative thinking in tax legislation
·  Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to understand client’s needs and help deliver quality outputs to clients
·  Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work

What we look for
Ideally you’ll have over two years of experience working in corporate tax compliance/advisory.
Whatever the projects and assignments you work on you will have an interest in contributing towards helping our clients to develop and execute their tax strategy ensuring technical excellence and providing the highest levels of client service.
