Infrastructure Advisory (IA) is a specialty practice within EY's Transaction Advisory Services service line. The team advises through the full lifecycle of core infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships across Canada and globally, and it was named Americas Financial Advisor of the Year for a second year in a row at the P3 Awards.
The team works across asset classes including transportation (e.g., transit, highways, airports), healthcare, environmental (e.g., waste), energy, mining, schools and municipal facilities, among others. Recent projects have included some of the largest and highest profile Canadian projects, such as the Mississauga LRT, Eglinton LRT, Metrolinx RER, Highway 407, Regina Bypass, Montreal Concert Hall, BC Hydro’s John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project and the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital to name a few. The practice is recognized as a trusted source by public sector ministries and agencies, as well as by private sector bidders, for its expertise in financing, structuring, modeling and management of procurement processes, as well as for advising through the full infrastructure lifecycle.
The IA team is experiencing rapid growth and is expanding its team of professionals across Canada.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a strong candidate to join as an Analyst / Consultant in the rapidly growing Infrastructure Advisory team. This position will be based in Toronto. involving some short term travel from time to time, and fills an integral role that involves working closely with colleagues in the national IA team to execute a wide variety of challenging and exciting engagements related to the planning, development, delivery and operations of major infrastructure projects..
We are looking for a team member who:
· Is seeking a dynamic role with a mix of technical and soft skills
· Is motivated and energized by participating in projects involving development of critical national infrastructure assets that have a tangible and lasting impact on society Will undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis of financials and documentation to develop and report findings relevant to the client
· Will manage and execute on multiple assignments with an exceptional standard of performance
· Will research accounting, tax and financial market information to be used in modelling, scenario analysis and negotiation support
· Prepares drafts of marketing materials and transaction proposals
· Prepares drafts of reports and presentations for client meetings
· Collaborates with other team members in identifying and exploring potential new business opportunities
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of relevant work experience, with experience in commercial, financial and strategic analysis (financial modelling an asset)
· Undergraduate degree necessary
· Strong spreadsheet skills and computer skills
· Working knowledge of the Canadian and International Finance and Accounting concepts and principles - CPA not required
· Working knowledge of Canadian debt financing and capital markets; and/or of global infrastructure and project financing markets
· Strong project management skills and ability to structure work
· Understanding of key business drivers
· Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
