The Americas Alpha+ Deal Activation (DA) Pursuit Designer (PD) serves as thecreative art director and producer on the firm’s most complex, high value global pursuit campaigns.
Working alongside the Alpha+ DA Pursuit Strategist (PS) and Pursuit Leader (PL), the role pitches pursuit design concepts for innovative deliverables, leads the creation of a pursuit’s visual strategy to strengthen the EY brand and illustrate a unique understanding of the client requirement, executes on that strategy in production of all final deliverables and helps teams bring complex concepts to life through art content development.
Daily responsibilities include: providing design support for all pursuit deliverables and client-facing materials; project management of additional design resources and vendors; production of collateral and liaison with key interdependent groups, including Account and Solution Activation, Global Delivery Services (GDS), Creative Services Group (CSG), EY Knowledge, EY Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC), etc.
The PD is one of the last to touch the proposal before completion and is therefore responsible for final quality control and delivery to internal/external team(s).

Americas Alpha+ Deal Activation is a rapidly growing team of business development and creative design professionals dedicated to winning the firm’s most strategic and high-value pursuits. Due to the increased demand and growing recognition of the value our current roster of PDs provide, we are recruiting new PD talent to join our expanding team.
Your key responsibilities
Essential Functions of the Job

Contribute to overall strategy development by devising innovative visuals, presentations, graphics, and packaging methods which resonate with the client’s business issues, culture, industry and market position
·
Responsible for the design theme and deliverables to support the pursuit strategy and client requirements (typically established in the RFP)
·
Attend and actively contribute to pursuit sessions throughout the campaign as required (Kick-off, win strategy, status updates, meeting preparation and review meetings etc.)
·
Provide conceptual design and production solutions during the deal-cycle to support communication strategies developed by PS and PL
·
Proactively establish production process, timelines and procedures with approved vendor resources (or in-house services) to meet project requirements and adherence to quality checks, proofing, and delivery deadlines
·
Create layouts aligned with brand guidelines to establishing strong typography and appropriate use of color, imagery and fonts, allowing for readability of type and logic of graphic illustrations
·
Build interactive presentations using a variety of design software and tools
·
Develop innovative concepts for packaging design and collateral delivery
·
Align strategic design concept with the value proposition
·
Project manage any additional design resources and vendors needed to execute the pursuit strategy and design concept
Supervision, teaming and performance expectations
·
Report to the PS and PD Team Leader and operate with considerable autonomy
·
Hold shared accountability (along with the PL and PS) for the performance of the Alpha+ DA team on the pursuit and quality of the final pursuit deliverables
·
Define design standards and best practices, and share leading practices with the EY design community and across the firm in relation to best-in-class techniques, practices and innovation
·
Support training and onboarding for PD colleagues
·
Provide informal coaching and knowledge sharing to PD network in the Regions and at GDS
·
Oversee performance of supplemental design support resources involved in Alpha+ DA pursuits (i.e. CSG and GDS)
·
Maintain relationships with key interdependency groups: BMC, CSG, GDS, EY Knowledge, etc.
·
Keep at the forefront of market and technology developments, and lead initiatives to leverage innovation in strategic design
·
Direct improvement of the pursuit process with emphasis on design and innovation factors, through extensive use of client (internal and external) feedback
·
Encourage teaming and cross-pollination of ideas and experience with other Area/Regional design resources
·
Participate in relevant internal and external professional networks, as applicable

As the job involves responding to client needs and varying time zones, flexibility regarding work schedule may be required

Moderate to frequent travel may be required

To qualify for the role you must have
Education
·
Bachelor’s degree, technical qualification or equivalent work experience required
Experience
·
8-12 years of Graphic Design/Communications/Pursuit Design experience
·
Cross-border experience working in a large organization is beneficial, experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable
·
Strong understanding of Business Development, Pursuit Management or new business pitches is beneficial
·
Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Ideally, you’ll also have
·
Have strong experience in graphic design with exposure to brand marketing
·
Be agile in a fast-paced environment and produce quality work in high-pressure situations
·
Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
·
Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends to assess, identify and implement new technology and/or design innovation such as interactive presentations and digital content delivery
·
Maintain advanced knowledge of graphics software tools, proficiency in firm’s standard operating software (MS Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel) and design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Keynote and Acrobat Pro
·
Maintain capabilities for troubleshooting technical issues in graphic files for pre-press, printing and digital delivery
·
Demonstrate executive presence; establishes credibility quickly, commands attention and respect, demonstrates confidence and deals comfortably with clients and other stakeholders, demonstrates versatility
·
Excellent project management skills, proven team building and interpersonal communication skills
· Articulate communicator
· Ability to work effectively under deadlines as needed
·
No certifications are required for this role however any design related accreditations are welcome such as Adobe Certified etc.
