OurPlanning, Budgeting and Financial Analysis (PBFA) team supports profitable growth and improves performance through insightful, proactive and forward-looking analysis and decision support. Our PBFA team works across Service Lines, functions and geographies to provide EY leaders with a consistent level of exceptional client service.

The opportunity

The US Government and Public Sector (“GPS”) Finance Project Control Analyst supports the development and execution of client engagement’s financial planning, tracking, analysis, review and reporting. This individual will maintain financial oversight of assigned GPS client engagements and be able to navigate issues and recommend resolutions between multiple ERP systems. This role requires a deep understanding of US Federal Regulations, government contracting, and EY accounting policies and practices.

Reports to the Assistant Finance Director. Directly supports, and maintains frequent interaction with engagement program management, to include senior managers and Partners, contract advisors, and the accounting department.

Your key responsibilities include

·  Act as primary finance interface for assigned group of federal contracts to manage entire project lifecyle
·  Provides assistance with Estimate to Complete (ETC) development and recommends actions to improve margin
·  Researches, performs financial analysis, and provides corrective solutions to complex program financial issues
·  Monitors and recommends solutions on funding status, margin, unbilled services, and AR . 
·  Provides guidance on complex contract set ups in Deltek Costpoint
·  Assists client serving staff with Deltek system issues involving time and expense submissions.
·  Owns process to collect necessary data for set up of intercompany charge codes
·  Assist in the monthly financial review process
·  Assist with creation of financial training documents
·  Other special projects as assigned

·  Strong federal finance entire lifecycle project control and analytical skills
·  Strong initiative and self-learning capabilities
·  Strong follow-through and project management capabilities
·  Excellent time management and organizational skills
·  Strong aptitude for dealing with complex systems issues and recommending viable alternative solutions
·  Experience with process improvement and implementation

To qualify for the role, you  MUST  have

·  3 + years of experience in a finance-related role supporting government contracts with STRONG emphasis and experience in entire project lifecycle and financial analysis
·  Strong financial systems and software experience, specifically Excel, other Microsoft applications, Deltek Costpoint, and Cognos querying
·  In depth knowledge of FFP, T&M, and Cost Plus contract types
·  Strong knowledge of EAC process
·  Knowledge of revenue recognition methods
·  Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills a must

Education

·  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience

  Other requirements:

·  This role requires US Citizenship in order to obtain a security clearance should it become necessary.

  Ideally, you’ll also have

·  Experience working in professional services
