About Program Mercury

 

Program Mercury is a large, multi-year, enterprise-wide process transformation that will replace more than 1400 EY business systems and related processes with an integrated, SAP centric platform that will standardize and harmonize activities throughout the organization and significantly improve how EY manages its business. About the Mercury Support Team (MST)

 

As an organization jointly owned by the business and IT, the MST is a centralized and global organization which will provide operational support for the delivered Mercury solution and manage and support the Mercury user community. The MST will play an integral role in governance of the Mercury solution and the global template from both a business and IT perspective and will evolve to work closely with the business in enabling the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Program Mercury and to set the furture direction and technology road map to support Vision 2020. .

 

Job Summary:

 

SAP Monitoing anf Tools Analyst will be responsible for managing the support and maintenance tools and overall environments monitoring of SAP and non SAP system landscapes in Mercury integrated environemnts with associated technology solutions which leverage or integrate with the core SAP applications. This position will require strong consulting and operations skills, complex tools and monitoing design, business systems knowledge and ERP solution expertise to effectively deliver a stable, reliable, scalable monitoring with knowledge of SAP basis operational administration. Act as a single point of contact/SME for systems monitoring and always maintaining production systems with HA objective. Provide operational support for Mercury SAP systems to ensure system availability per our agreed SLA’s and implement proactive measures to reduce the number of unplanned outages.

 

Work closely with other operational support teams, IBM-AMS, AHS, Infrastructure basis team , service management, Service Delivery Managers and provide specific, technical expertise regarding performance and basis solution which is required to run each business process, including knowledge of the dependent and impacted applications. The main activities are to assure the smooth ongoing operation and support of IT solutions affected by the SAP implementation to the Operational support functions that will support the solution through business as usual (BAU) support. This role reports to Mercury technology basis lead.

 

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

·  Monitoring of SAP and non SAP environments in EY and IBM data center. Work on RSLAF , Techmon.ICMON alerting. Infrastructure monitoring with NETCOOL. Evaluate and monitor EWA reports weekly. Monitoring SQL, HANA DBs , logs and applications and logs.
·  Accountability for the monitoring support of  SAP integrated systems , environment in EY and IBM data centers. Lead and  manage EY, IBM AMS/AHS teams while managing all the efforts related to day-to-day SAP activities. Provide operational and project support, and administration of multiple SAP landscapes.
·  Proven track record in basis and Environment Management for highly-complex and integrated applications and environments, with a demonstrable track record in planning, co-ordinating and preparing environments in a safe, effective manner with no risk to production environments. Demonstrative ability to define, establish and manage environment management processes and procedures for complex and highly integrated SAP solutions.
·  Extensive experience working with 3rd party vendors as service providers like IBM –AMS and AHS.
·  Daily system checks and troubleshoot any errors.
·  Research into SAP notes and SAP documents on the OS version, Database version, Installed Add-On’s and Current SAP PI support Pack level and implement sapnotes/support packs.
·  Estimating the database growth and request additional disks pace proactively.
·  Administration of PI 7.0 (AS ABAP, AS JAVA, PI 7.0 application) for performance, availability and maintenance.
·  SXMS_QREG to manage queues( register, de-register queues)
·  SMQ1 & SMQ2 queue administration and monitoring
·  PO Integration Engine Configuration & tuning “RUNTIME” parameters.
·  PO Runtime Workbench Administration & Monitoring
·  SXMB_MONI monitoring for XML Messages
·  Performance Monitoring of PI systems using pipeline concept.
·  Troubleshooting the message archiving issues by implementing necessary notes/support packs.
·  Daily system checks
·  Database and application tuning for better performance.
·  Monitoring SLD logs for errors
·  Defining Business Systems & assigning Transport Targets.
·  Monitoring SLD logs for errors.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

·  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
·  Proven track record in Environment monitoring with tools and procedures for large, complex and highly integrated application landscapes with specific knowledge of SAP programs with a global template, single production instance and a dual path to production.
·  Excellent knowledge and understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
·  Significant experience of monitoring metrics and Quality Management techniques gained through IT program / project delivery and in an IT support environment
·  Experience of working within multi-location teams
·  Experience of working in large programs of work
·  Experience of leading small teams in project delivery
·  Previous experience in client-facing roles within blue chip organizations.
·  Ability to build good relationships both within own team and with other teams
·  Ability to work across multiple projects
·  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
·  Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
·  Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people within and outside of IT to balance demands

·  Minimum of 5 years IT monitoring and tools related experience.
·  SAP tools experience is essential

Technology Skills

·  Experience of having worked on large, global IT deployment programs including preparing for go-live and supporting the immediate post go-live period
·  ITILv3 certification is a plus
·  SAP experience
·  IT infrastructure knowledge Demonstrated ability to coordinate/lead multiple projects/activities with competing priorities.
·  Good understanding of SAP technical Basis/NetWeaver, monitoring tools like solution manager , Tivoli netcool, HP open view monitoring  concepts and hands-on experience.
·  Multi-year experience in supporting a complex SAP landscape with architecture, design and deployment experience of major release/project roll-out.
·  Understand service models and ability to prioritize based on impacts to business operations

Education:
