EY is a newer entrant to the Papua New Guinea market and has quickly developed a reputation for being one of the most integrated firms in the market, delivering Assurance and Tax services. Our differentiated market positioning has enabled us to quickly develop a sizeable business across a diverse client portfolio. However there is tremendous scope for growth and we are now seeking a junior Partner or Director (who may be 12 months from progression to Partner) to help drive the continued growth of our PNG practice.
As a key member of our PNG team, you will provide peace of mind to clients by using your skills and experience to give companies, investors and regulators confidence in the validity of financial statements and business-critical information or processes.

About the opportunity
In your role as a Director you’ll have:
Your Client Responsibilities:
· Assume relationship management responsibilities for key client relationships;
· Explore and secure new business relationships
· Oversee team delivery on audit engagements in compliance with our policies and protocols
· As an influential member of the team, you’ll help to create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel Managers and junior team members and help them to develop.
· Lead and manage fieldwork on clients’ sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the Audit process.
· Deliver expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.
· Identify areas requiring improvement in the clients’ business processes and possible recommendations and prepare and deliver these to clients.
Your People Responsibilities:
· Influence, change and shape the direction of a particular activity, either internally and/or externally.
· Coach and mentor staff through sharing experience and knowledge.
· Contribute to effective team work, role model.
· Provide on-the-job training for developing auditing skills and familiarity with the firm's audit methodology.
About you
We’re looking for people who:
· Is hungry and motivated to grow a practice and thrives on this aspect of their role;
· Has a proven track record in developing and maintaining client relationships.
· Is technically savvy with a commercial mindset
· Is willing and able to balance client management and development responsibilities, with stepping into the details and supporting and upskilling Managers and their teams
· Is CA, CPA or ACCA accredited
· Has expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.
