Job Summary:

 

Audit Risk Analytics is an internal analytics group, which helps the leaders of the Americas Assurance practice of Ernst & Young enhance quality and effectiveness of the Firm’s audit work. The team’s key clients are the EY Professional Practice and the Quality Network, consisting of senior leaders of the Americas Assurance area. The Audit Risk Analytics group is a new function within the Professional Practice group, which utilizes the organization's employee and client account data, to assess audit risk, assist in root cause analyses and in general provide insights into how business practices influence audit quality. The goal is to provide decision guidance to firm leaders. 

 

As a Data Analyst Senior Associate, you will help drive the use of analytics, to support the goals of the Professional Practice of Ernst & Young in the Americas. You will work with all members of the team, but will mainly support the data management function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·  Data management function to support the team on the data sourcing, building, cleansing validating and reporting.
·  Actively engage with the business and the team to create reports, dashboards and enablers (currently using SQL, Excel VBA and Tableau)
·  Oversee SQL queries and quality control processes from the data building team in India and their quality control processes to ensure best practices and smooth transfer between various uses and software languages
·  Data validation (currently using SQL) preparing exception reports and reconcile differences
·  Work with India to make sure the database architecture and data processes are optimized for use for the ARA team and for mitigating risks t
·  Work mostly in SQL, R, SAS, and Excel VBA to satisfy ad-hoc data and analytics requests
·  Gain an understanding of the business, firm’s policies and the team’s processes and make recommendations accordingly
·  Apply process and technology enablement knowledge to analyses and problem solving
·  Use sound judgment and consistency in providing measurement results
·  Use analysis to identify opportunities and offer solutions

Qualifications, education and certification:

·  Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
·  0-3 years related experience
·  Strong SQL skills
·  Proficient in R or SAS data manipulation (Preferred)
·  Advanced Excel skills
·  Detail oriented
·  Tableau or Spotfire (Preferred)
·  VBA (Preferred)
