EY’s UK Financial Services Tax Technology and Transformation (TTT) business is a rapidly growing team of technology, data science, business transformation and tax professionals that help financial services organisations to redefine their tax operations and functions, driving transformation for the digital age.

 

The opportunity

We are expanding our team of tax change and project management specialists within the UK Financial Services TTT business to reflect the growing demand for complex tax change, transformation and operating model development programs across our tax services engagement portfolio. The role will focus on the design, planning and delivery of transformation activities and technology implementations to solve challenging business problems and realise strategic objectives in relation to existing and emerging tax obligations. In doing so you will be supporting the delivery of Tax engagements to some of the largest global institutions across the Financial Services industry (including many FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 organisations).

 

Your key responsibilities

· 
Conduct business analysis of clients’ tax-related transformation requirements

· 
Provide transformation methodology subject matter knowledge and advise application to tax use cases

· 
Incept and plan projects to design, develop and implement tax-driven business change solutions, including co-ordination of technology delivery teams (where relevant)

· 
Apply project management discipline to transformation engagements

· 
Build valuable relationships both within EY and with client stakeholders, proactively contributing to winning new work/clients

· 
Develop tax subject matter knowledge through both formal training and working with senior mentors

· 
Expand knowledge of financial services operations and business models

· 
Contribute to business development activities and team capability development

Skills and attributes for success

· 
Ability to perform robust business analysis: identification of client business objectives/challenges relating to tax; documentation of business and technical requirements; solution design and articulation; business case development

· 
Understanding and experience of operating model design: how to optimally align processes, people, technology, data and governance to achieve business goals

· 
Project and programme management skills: project planning, project documentation drafting and maintenance of these; resource and team co-ordination; identification, management and escalation of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies; budget management; stakeholder status reporting; benefits tracking; project close-down and handover to Business as Usual

· 
Ability to cope with ambiguity and bring clarity to complex, multi-faceted scenarios and drive forward progress via actionable decisions

· 
Strong written and verbal communication skills

· 
Self-starter, results orientated with ability to ask insightful questions

· 
Ability to provide excellent client service as well as manage and build strong relationships internally and externally (where required), including influencing peers and more senior colleagues/clients

Appetite for learning more about financial services operations, tax and new transformative technologies

· 
Ability to comprehend and apply knowledge gained from colleagues (e.g. Tax subject matter resources and/or consultants from other practices across the organisation) quickly and effectively

Ability to manage multiple initiatives with agility to respond to changing business priority

To qualify for the role, you must have

· 
Previous experience working in a business analyst, project/programme management or business transformation capacity

· 
Strong experience working on complex change projects throughout the entire lifecycle

· 
Be a “builder” who can thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment, and can plan and manage at both the strategic and tactical levels

· 
Experience of a similar role within a comparable firm to EY (e.g. Big 4, global consultancy) is preferred

· 
Willingness to travel within the UK (on some occasions you may be required to travel internally to support delivery of engagements and projects)

· 
Proficiency in core business applications (Microsoft Office)

Ideally, you’ll also have

· 
Experience working in financial services

· 
Knowledge of control frameworks for the management and monitoring of risk

· 
Familiarity with the application of automation and data technologies (e.g. RPA, ETL tools, visual analytics)

· 
Formal project management training certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, MSP) or process improvement certification (e.g. Six Sigma ‘belt’) is preferred

· 
Working knowledge of tax regulation and processes (e.g. FATCA/CRS, Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax etc)
