Job Title: Plant Manager / OGM (Operations General Manager)
Location: Kettering

In this role, you will oversee operations to meet factory needs and priorities, aligning with Danone’s strategies. You will drive operational efficiency and factory competitiveness through timely, cost-effective production of superior products. You will lead and develop high-performance teams, ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and maintain quality and food safety. You will manage the operations P&L, contribute to the Area Masterplan, and ensure business continuity. Additionally, you will co-lead the Site Masterplan, manage stakeholders, implement safety systems, and ensure project deliverables meet business expectations.
In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining safety, quality, and business metrics. You will focus on organisational development, succession planning, engagement, and people KPIs (absenteeism, overtime). You will establish a zero-risk operating culture, support compliance with environmental, health, and safety programs, ensure product quality, drive IWS implementation, and lead the site operations team.
As the operations leader, you will deliver the business strategy and master plan, build productivity pipelines, lead a reliable and competitive operations organization, accelerate performance improvement, and maintain controls and reports for efficient operations. You will also develop positive community relations and drive organisational development through servant leadership, talent pipeline development, and promoting a productive culture.
Ensuring open communication, participating in team skills development, and upskilling and reskilling the workforce will also be key aspects of your role.
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, have strong communication skills, with the ability to prioritise and think ahead.
The following qualifications/skills are required:
· Degree or equivalent in Engineering discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role.
· Extensive experience in a technical function within manufacturing (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Production, or Civil Engineering).
· Ensure safety, quality, and food safety standards are met.
· Manage infrastructure and security effectively.
· Apply 20 manufacturing critical skills and IWS Leadership System.
· Utilise digital manufacturing techniques and oversee labour management.
· Manage production processes and maintain utilities.
· Drive business success and impact.
· Use data-driven management and strategic thinking.
· Lead and coach teams effectively.
· Manage change and crises with agility.
· General process knowledge (PFD, P&ID) on food processing (filling, sterilising, mixing, primary and secondary packaging).
· Apply detailed engineering knowledge (Flow, Pressure, Temperature, pumps, valves, instruments, piping, electrical).
· Experience in food industry engineering (Hygiene, design, aseptic).
· Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
· Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills.
· Proficient in digital systems and automation.
· Full belief in IWS, WCM, TPM, and Q&V methodologies.
