MISSION
As part of the North American Procurement team, the primary purpose of this position is to manage the co-manufacturing sourcing for the Dairy Division of Danone North America.

This position requires proven direct or indirect services sourcing skills and effective cross functional leadership, communication, collaborative, analytical and negotiation skills. The position will ideally be based in Broomfield, CO.

 

POSITION FUNCTIONS
Responsible for developing the strategy for Co-manufacturing sourcing
• Define and implement the co-manufacturing sourcing strategy for respective business unit
• Support growth through identification and implementation of adapted partnership with identified suppliers
• Develop and implement a Make Or Buy tool to support sourcing decision for the business unit
• Conduct market studies to identify new suppliers and develop a robust supplier base

Supplier and Contract Management
• Establish RFQ (request for quotation) to select suppliers.
• Analyze the proposals and recommend scenarios to key internal stake holders.
• Negotiate with the suppliers the quality, time and cost of service and other contact terms and conditions Inform the suppliers of the selection.
• Draft contract. Lead contract ratification activities, assuring interaction with supplier and Legal teams
• Manage suppliers to ensure business needs are met and maintain SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) to improve suppliers performance

Project Management
• Continuously monitor, review and communicate the project status (with respect to contractual commitments of the supplier)
• Lead project implementation by respecting the budgets / schedules / standards quality of Danone, using the appropriate tools.
• Anticipate and alert key stake holders in case of non-compliance with the contractual commitments.
• Develop a sustainable planning, replenishment, distribution, and logistics process between business unit teams and the co-manufacturer including focusing on delivering key operations objectives.
• Develop and implement industrial performance metrics with the co-manufacturer plants and monitor/support continuous improvement.
• Support commercialization of new platforms and capabilities from concept to launch including conducting operations feasibility, and project management follow ups.

Supplier Evaluation
• Evaluate and manage the global performance of co-manufacturing suppliers
• Define the objectives of improvement of performance and the necessary action plans
• Manage the implementation of action plans

Budget & Productivity Management
• Manage overall spend for co-manufacturing sourcing
• Establish the budget, track variances and manage risks for respective area
• Identify new projects to create savings opportunities, validate with finance, seek and attain buy-in for these projects, build budget with other functions, realize and track the productivities on a monthly basis

 

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field of study
• Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in strategic purchasing or supply chain with strong skills of negotiation & value creation
• Experience in the food-processing industry, specially perishable products
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, matrix environment
• People management: the individual must demonstrate future capability as well as demonstrated cross-functional / peer to peer leadership through coaching and stewardship
• Proactive: anticipates issues/opportunities & can work through multiple simultaneous projects
• Rigorous data analysis capability and financial acumen
• Ability to develop and implement strategic sustainable initiatives, and lead change by engaging people
• Language: English mandatory with French as a plus
• Comfortable in facing paradoxes or contradictions with resilience and tenacity
