Software Architect – Payments

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect – Payments to join our team and play a key role in designing, maintaining, and evolving critical payment solutions. You will work at the intersection of architecture, software engineering, and payment operations, helping ensure the reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance of payment platforms supporting domestic and international payment processing.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of modern payment ecosystems.

Salary range: 4500-5500 Euro (gross).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Design and evolve payment application architectures and integration solutions
- Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle
- Support application maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
- Collaborate with development, operations, infrastructure, and business teams
- Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and scalability
- Contribute to cloud adoption and modernization initiatives
- Support compliance with payment industry standards and regulations
- Analyze and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems
- Drive best practices for software architecture, integration, and operational excellence

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Technical Skills
- Strong experience with .NET and Java
- Experience with Oracle Database
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
- Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk

Core Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in application maintenance and support environments
- Solid software development and programming background
- General understanding of payment infrastructure and payment networks
- General understanding of payment-related regulations and compliance requirements

Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience with any of the following will be considered a strong advantage:
- Payments & Industry Standards
- European Payments Council SCT and SCT Inst rulebooks
- SWIFT messaging
- European Central Bank TARGET Services
- ISO 20022 message standards
