We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a "Senior Mainframe Developer" in our Banking Services Division.
Location - Scarborough (Hybrid - 3 days office and remaining remote) - subject to change at any time.
Mainframe Developer responsible for enhancement projects and drive end-to-end technical delivery.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Requirements understanding, Design & analysis and create design documents.
• May also be accountable for applications/systems development, programming /coding.
• Develop functional, technical and user interface designs for an application / system that meets the defined requirements (business, enterprise architecture direction, system performance and development standards).
• Review technical deliverables throughout detailed design and development phase to ensure quality adherence and identify gaps or redesign requirements as needed.
• Address QA testing defects with timely fix.
• Delivery projects efficiently in Onsite-Offshore model (if needed); open to grooming team to optimize technical productivity.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to quality, standards compliance, reusability and ease of maintenance, Operational Readiness Reviews, and supporting gating and review sign-offs for solution design.
• May also be responsible for production support activities.
• Support CI/CD deployments using Jenkins for testing cycles - Development Integration Testing (IST) and QA Integrated testing (QAT)
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Knowledge of Banking Domain will be a good advantage.
• Solid 5yrs + mainframe application development experience.
• Technical Skills Required: COBOL, IMS DB/DC, DB2, JCL, endeavor, Jenkins, Confluence, bitbucket, file-aid, Visual Studio code, Jira, ServiceNow.
• Advanced and extensive knowledge of the business (or organization), technical environment, standards, processes, procedures, programming languages and operating systems.
• Readiness and motivation (as senior or lead developer and valued subject matter expert) to address and resolve multifaceted development-related issues, often independently.
• Strength in coaching and advising clients, partners and project teams.
• Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables.
• Strong communicator and adaptable to client need
• CERTIFICATIONS -University Degree preferably in IT, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
