Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Architect to lead the migration of our PECOS O&M from an on-premises data center to a CMS Hybrid cloud environment using AWS solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud architectures, with a focus on scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

***This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable***

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- **Cloud Architecture Design:** Lead the design and implementation of the AWS cloud architecture for PECOS, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
- **Migration Strategy:** Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy from the current on-premises infrastructure to AWS, utilizing AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and other relevant tools.
- **Networking and Security:** Design and implement secure networking solutions using Amazon VPC, AWS IAM, Security Groups, AWS WAF, and AWS Advanced Shield. Ensure robust security measures are in place, including data encryption and key management with AWS KMS.
- **Compute and Storage Management:** Oversee the deployment and management of compute resources using Amazon EC2, ECS with Fargate, and storage solutions such as EBS and S3.
- **Load Balancing and Monitoring:** Implement load balancing solutions with Amazon ELB and AWS CloudFront. Set up monitoring and logging using Amazon CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Splunk to ensure system reliability and performance.
- **Database Management:** Manage AWS RDS Oracle for database needs, including setting up AWS Read Replicas for database replication and ensuring data integrity and availability.
- **Backup and Recovery:** Design and implement backup and recovery solutions using AWS Backup and AWS Cloud Protection Manager (CPM) to ensure data resilience.
- **Application Deployment:** Facilitate the deployment of web and application servers using NGINX, Apache, and WildFly/JBOSS, ensuring high availability and performance.
- **Automation and Scheduling:** Utilize AWS Event Bridge and Apache Airflow for job scheduling and automation to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- **Documentation and Training:** Maintain comprehensive documentation of the cloud architecture and provide training to the operations team on AWS management and best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Ten plus years of experience with AWS migration, maintenance, and continuous improvement. 
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an AWS Architect, with a strong track record of successful cloud migrations.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including VPC, EC2, RDS, IAM, S3, and CloudFront.
- Experience with Java-based applications and familiarity with technologies such as Java 8, Struts, JSP, and Oracle databases.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $198,400.00.
