Mobile Application Tester
Position Description
CGI is seeking a Mobile Application Tester to join a team serving a client in the Higher Education sector in Waterville, Maine. The successful candidate will primarily focus on the preparation and execution of test scripts. The tester will collaborate closely with other CGI members and members from the client’s team. Occasional travel to client site in the Boston area may be required (1-2 times per year). The position will be based in CGI’s Waterville ME Delivery Center, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work on interesting engagements as part of a growing Delivery Center team. Your future duties and responsibilities
Understand each development requirement, and ensure all requirements are covered in an appropriate test script.
Author test scripts with traceability
Test scripts will be written in Zephyr with traceability to User Stories. Once testing begins, test results are published as a comment in the JIRA issue. All issues encountered are documented in JIRA.
Depending on the nature of the sprint’s work, perform functional testing, role-based testing, smoke testing, and regression testing.
Execute UAT.
Manage test execution and identifying/creating seeded data, where needed.
Escalate issues and report to Scrum Master/Developer. Work directly with the technical team to fix defects.
Sign-off on testing in QA, Demo, Staging, and Production environments during the release process. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
3-5 years testing experience
At least 1 year Mobile Application Testing experience
Experience writing test scripts
Experience with Selenium and JMeter
SQL querying experience
Strong analysis and problem solving skills, with an ability to conduct research in order to address knowledge gaps
Good team work skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
Testing Experience: 3-5 years' experience with a High proficiency level
Mobile Testing Experience: >1 year experience
1. Experience working in an Agile and Scum based approach
2. Experience with Jing, Jira, Zoom, Slack, Confluence, Zendesk, Logzio and Twilio.
3. Identify opportunities to extend CGI’s relationship with the client
4. Ability to share specialized knowledge with other CGI members
5. Proactive in making suggestions on how to improve one’s own and the team work
